[newbie] 9.2 and Evolution

2003-10-21 Per discussione Yoel P. Krigsman
Hello...

Last night, I formatted my hard drive and installed my new copy of MDK
9.2.

I am wondering why my evolution kept not closing properly, I had to go
to Konsole, and do killall evolution to kill this window. When I re-open
that application, I get all of my mail back that I have done deleted
already.

What can i do to remedy this situation?

Thanks!

That's RC2; NOT 9.2. Those ISOs are more than a month old and there are so
many updates between that and current cooker that you may as well just do as
Tom suggests and go for a full cooker upgrade. That would actually involve
less bandwidth than what you're doing.

Or just do a network install from the 9.2 tree on the same machine. Probably
 just as fast.
BTW don't toss the ISOs you already have, you can rsync them to the actual
release when it's available on the mirrors.

Can someone tell me HOW i can do this? I already have the ISO for RC2 of
9.2

[newbie] How to disable Win key?

Hello...

I have one of my computers running in CLI mode at all times as my
monitor is very old.

Every time I use the computer and I accidentally hit the Win key, it
advances to the next TTY port higher than the previous one.

HOW can I disable that function so that it won't do anything if I
accidentally hit the Win key?

P.S. Win key is the key between alt and Ctrl on the left side of the

In Kmail, when you set up the pop server (under the network tab) there's an

You should be able to double-click on them in your file manager and they
SHOULD open up, or decompress, OR open up yet another program to allow
you to do things to the program inside.

I was able to unzip it and put in a directory... Thanks

TAR files generally have source files/source code within them and need
to be compiled into true executable binaries...what did you download?

Trying to get my Palm Pilot to work with Avantgo conduit... I am not

It is an extension of the Xserver and not a seperate package. It is already
installed if you are using the gui. You enable it by setting the options in
 your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file.

Yoel, I can't help you, but I'm sure there will be someone here shortly that
can. Meanwhile, however, it would greatly help to get you a meaningful
answer if you told us what video card(s) you use.
