You haven't installed KDE3 yet!  The urpmi.addmedia simply adds the
directory to the list of sources used by urpmi and the Mandrake Software
Manger (such as Mandrake CD1, CD2, etc).  To actually install KDE3, go
back to the directory where you have the files (/home/MyName/kde3 in
your posting).  Once there, root, do a urpmi *  and that will install
it.

You did everything except actually installing kde3.
Now do
urpmi *

Go into the control centre  there should be a place for Logging in. 
Poke around abit you'll find it.  Theres a check box automatically log
me in as Blah User. Uncheck that.

Precisely why is this a problem?  What other session type would you
prefer to have available?  That is a normal option set.  I have them

devi recuperare kde3-i18n-it che sta nella directori noarch
insieme a tutte le altre localizzazioni-i18n

[newbie-it] KDE 3.0

Salve alla lista,

Ho da poco installato KDE 3.0. Devo dire che esteticamente è decisamente
più bello (icone comprese).
Sulla mia macchina poi gira più velocemente del precedente 2.2.2, anche
se all'avvio ci mette di più.

Problemi riscontrati 2:

1) Manca la lingua italiana... sto scaricando qualcosa. Se funziona ve
lo faccio sapere.

2) L'audio funziona a metà: xmms e gli mp3 vanno, DVD e giochi pure, Wav
aperti con xmms anche. Perchè allora la sigla di apertura e tutti i
suoni di sistema non vanno, nonostante siano attivi?
