[Nighthawk Lovers] 83 CB 550 - STRUGGLES TO IDLE

2010-06-23 Thread MGAMB
Has anyone ever had an issue where the engine struggles to idle, even
after running for 30+ minutes? My remedy at the moment is to run the
bike with the choke on about 25% as when the engine revs above 1500
there is no problem. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions.

Somewhere I have a picture of me next to my 450 - holding a sign and a
trophy - #1 RAT Bike at a local United Bikers of Maine show.
Competition wasn't stiff and I had a tiger tail hanging off the end of

Just as an fyi, on my 92 you just remove two screws and the gague will
come out of the cup. From there just pull the bulb and wires from
their socket in the back of the gague. Reverse to replace. Maybe a 10
minute process if you also spill your beer. While the flashlights have
the added benefit of attracting attention.. You're delving into rat

[Nighthawk Lovers] Nighthawk 700s For Sale in San Francisco Area

2010-06-23 Thread Lucien Lewis
Very nice looking bike that starts and runs well, but has a couple
mechanical issues, the most serious being a knock from the bottom end.
Not super loud, but it is there and gets louder as the bike warms up.
It also has a blown fork seal and JB weld around the drain plug (last
owner was a little too strong). Reg will be around 150. Clean title,
corbin seat, all plastics and tank in nice shape. The bike looks great
and is very clean, say an 8.5 on a 1-10 scale. $400 takes it away.
Best way to get me is email motojoh...@yahoo.com
