Re: [Nighthawk Lovers] Posted question from website - Nighthawk 550

2012-07-17 Thread hallman

I had this happen to me. My brother took the little black box under the seat [
I can't remember what it is called ] and re-soldered in it. It has been working
good for 3 years now. I hope this helps.

Hey everyone!

The question below was posted from my website. Please share your thoughts.

Paul,

Can you or maybe some of your contacts help me? I have an 83 nighthawk 550 and
have changed the battery, stator,regulator/rectifier and the battery keeps
going dead after 45 minutes of riding or when it just sits for a couple of
days. Any and all ideas are welcomed. I dont want to sell the bike because I'm
broke. What am I missing. According to all my measurements with an electric
meter everything is working correctly.

Pulling my hair out,
Aaron Magnan

[Nighthawk Lovers] Re: Tank bags - magnet or strap?

2012-07-17 Thread super.dav...@hotmail.com
i use a teknic expanding magnetic mount tank bag but to save the top of the
tank i siliconed a microfibre cloth to the bottom of the tank bag. no more
maring of the paint. make sure that you check the magnets for metal bits.
you would be amazed what a paper staple will do to your paint.

I am assuming that I will need to remove the bag to fill up, right?
 Any other thoughts?

Re: [Nighthawk Lovers] Re: Tank bags - magnet or strap?

2012-07-17 Thread Rok Koželj
Couldnt agree more. If you put microfibre cloth in the bottom of bag,
everything is ok. I did the same and it works perfect. Better then
straps, those can really scrach paint, because of constantly moving
around when driving.
