[Nighthawk Lovers] Re: What would you buy?

2010-09-24 Thread sfox618
I'd fly to Japan and buy one of the new CB750's and ship it home. It
would probably cost more than $10,000 total but worth it. If not that
I'd take a long hard look at the new Honda Fury - I'd be a little
short but with the prices of bikes crashing I think you could find a
Fury for $10,000 even from a dealership.

So picture this, you get into a car wreck and sprain your pinky.  You
sue the pants off of the guy that hit you and get $10,000 for your
suffering.  Now your car is already taken care of by his insurance so
you've got $10,000 not spoken for and you decide to buy\make a down
payment on a shiny new motorsickle.  What do you end up getting?

I have to admit - we forgot the ST1300 - a bike that at least a few of
us agreed we'd like to at least try.

Re: [Nighthawk Lovers] Re: What would you buy?

2010-09-24 Thread David Cummings
Well, although I agree with most of you here that I would probably
take 10k extra given to me and put it towards debt and travel, I think
the spirit was a fantasy 10k bike purchase.

So to that end, I'd hang on to my 10k until I found a rare sport bike
for sale (see where this is going?) for around that.

Right now, the object of my desire is a Ducati MH900e. Just something
about that bike I can't get over and they pop up every so often for
right around the 10k mark, given a little haggling with the seller.

This all assumes my nighthawk is still running :-)

Well actually I'd by the 650ABS and uprate the motor but I digress.
Of course I wouldn't say no to a 1250 Bandit but I'm not sure I'd want
to have to deal with Suzuki's stellar customer service.
