Re: [Nighthawk Lovers] Carb float pin shift
Ya when I took the bowl off it seemed like the pin was pulled to one side by 3/8 of an inch. However Now that you mention it the bowl does hold it in place. It must have just shifted as i took the bowl off. That is the only thing that makes sense to me. Thanks! Re: [Nighthawk Lovers] Carb float pin shift
I know that as well, unless somehow the wrong bowl was on it. But just shifting shouldn't cause it to flood. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group. Re: [Nighthawk Lovers] Carb float pin shift
Actually the fact that the pin had shifted may not have been the cause of the flooding. It may have been a spec of dirt on the float valve seat. If tapping the bowl doesn't work, sometimes draining the bowl and allowing it to refill ( you have to activate the vacuum petcock manually) takes care of it. Sometimes doing that a couple of times. On clean carbs that nearly always works for me, Graham again. Sent from my iPad > On Apr 18, 2015, at 02:00, Daniel Conder wrote: > > Recently I rebuilt and re-synced carbs on 1983 CB650. Re: [Nighthawk Lovers] Carb float pin shift
It's better if those pins are really clean and able to move freely so that no matter how much or how little it moves laterally, the float isn't affected. It to can move freely on the pin. If it happens again just tap the bowl lightly with the handle of a screw driver. I use a light hammer and hammer and screw driver for the two inner most carbs, Graham Sent from my iPad > On Apr 18, 2015, at 07:12, Allen Thomas wrote: > > The bowl holds it in place. Re: [Nighthawk Lovers] Carb float pin shift
The bowl holds it in place. They are not directional, they just slide in either side. IDK how that happened.
