[ns] query:How to implement a call admission control algorithm for VoIP over 802.11 ad hoc networks by NS-2.33.
Dear all, Now I'm considering call admission control algorithms for VoIP over IEEE 802.11 ad hoc networks. However, I have some questions as following: (1) The traffic model is 64kbps on-off stream for VoIP(i.e., G.711 PCM codec for VoIP) where the on and off periods are exponentially distributed with mean 1.5 seconds. Since the total bit rate is 64kbps and there is no packets generated during off period, therefore the bit rate during the on period is 2*64kbps, thus the sampling rate is 16kHz, However, the bandwidth for voice signal is no more than 4kHz and the sampling rate 8kHz is enough. What is the matter? (2) When a call from a station is rejected after the judgements using the CAC algorithm, the station can not admit itself into the network, How can I implement the rejecting operation in the ns-2.33 simulation environment? If the streaming packets are justly discarded, then the packet loss rate is high. My purpose is completely preventing the rejected station from joining the network. The above questions may be infant, thank you all very much in advance! [ns] NAM problem II
Hello everyone! I wrote before about a problem that im having with NAM. Looking up some of the info showed by ns-allinone-2.33 at the end of the installion i found this . . . *make[2]: se sale del directorio `/home/jose/Escritorio/ns-allinone-2.33/dei80211mr-1.1.4' make[1]: se sale del directorio `/home/jose/Escritorio/ns-allinone-2.33/dei80211mr-1.1.4' Please compile your nam separately. Ns-allinone package has been installed successfully. Here are the installation places: tcl8.4.18:/home/jose/Escritorio/ns-allinone-2.33/{bin,include,lib} tk8.4.18:/home/jose/Escritorio/ns-allinone-2.33/{bin,include,lib} .* . . I have to compile NAM separately. Im following the instruction of the READ ME file in /nam-1.13. I have type ./configure first but when i use this command i get the following . . . *No explicit static compilation flag; setting V_STATIC to "" checking for dlopen in -ldl... yes checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c configure: creating ./config.status config.status: creating Makefile config.status: creating autoconf.h config.status: autoconf.h is unchanged** .* . . Does anyone knows what that means?? What should i do?? Thanxs again! I wish u all a happy valentines day! -- A day without sunshine is like, you know...night.
[ns] query: How to implement HRP in ns-2.33
-- Forwarded message -- From: laxmidevi madagundi Date: Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 8:54 AM Subject: Help: Regarding HRP protocol details To: ns-users@isi.edu Hi everybody, Please send me design of HRP routing protocol for hybrid mesh network. Bcause we are doing project on it. And if possible send me tcl script to design topology. Waiting for your reply Thanking you Laxmi m.b.laxmid...@gmail.com
[ns] Re : NAM problem
Hi You should add thease lines to you bashrc file: gedit ~/.bashrc then add this: # PATH NS=your ns path NAM=your NAM path PATH=$PATH:$NS:$NAM Hope this helps. --- En date de : Dim 15.2.09, Jose Rodriguez a écrit : De: Jose Rodriguez Objet: [ns] NAM problem À: ns-users@ISI.EDU Date: Dimanche 15 Février 2009, 8h07 Hello everyone, Im new on ns-2 and i have the following issue: I downloaded ns-allione-2.33 and installed it (im using Ubuntu 8.04 by the way). I did the changes to my PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH that at the end of the installation process tells me to do. Im trying to run a simple scripy and i get the following error ns: finish: couldn't execute "nam": no such file or directory while executing "exec nam out.nam &" (procedure "finish" line 5) invoked from within "finish" I looked on this problem online and everyones says that it could be a PATH issue. I included the location to nam-1.13 to my PATH but it didnt work. I dont know if this part of the problem but in /ns-allinone-2.33/ns-2.33/nam is empty. Also in /ns-allinone-2.33/nam-1.13 there isnt a nam directory, just nam1, nam.h, etc but no an exec file. I dont think Nam was installed correctly. What should i Do..?? Can i install just nam or should i install everything again...?? How do i install nam alone and then mixing it with what i alredeay have??? Thanxs in advance! [ns] When does an adhoc wireless network "splits"?
Hello, I have a scenario, with an adhoc network (DSR) where the leftmost and the rightmost node communicate (I experimented both with FTP and Exponential traffic). I need to calculate the time where the network "splits", that is, these two nodes can't communicate anymore, because one or more nodes in-between have reached an energy level of 0. Which kind of event should I look for? I wrote a Tcl script that looks like either for the first "NRTE" event, or the first link error report (flag "-Pw 1"), but sometimes, with certain seeds, one of these (expecially the NRTE event) never appears. I made sure to setup the simulation long enough (60 seconds, with initial energy level of all nodes equal to 20 J), so that for sure the initial energy is not enough for the network to survive. Thanks a lot
