  I have ubuntu 12.10(32-bit)
  I have 64 bit OS

 ? Which one is it ? $ uname -m Enter

 Mannasim patch for ns-2.35 : Unless you do something really really wrong,
 it
 can't fail.
 Ubuntu 12.10 - 64bits : x86_64 :
 $ tar xvf ns-allinone-2.35.tar.gz  patch -p0  ns2.35-mannasim.patch
 $ cd ns-allinone-2.35/  export CC=gcc-4.4 CXX=g++-4.4  ./install : No
 errors.

 Or use the already patched https://github.com/paultsr/ns-allinone-2.35; :
 No errors on the 64bits Ubuntu 12.10 .

 About 'make clean' in ns-2.35 : You will also have to delete files.o in
 the
 folder mannasim/:
 $ rm commonnodeAPP.o , etc. etc.

 Configuring (Not required when you start from scratch with an untouched
 ns-allinone-2.35):
 $ make distclean  export CC=gcc-4.4 CXX=g++-4.4  ./configure  make

 Hi,
 I have patched GPSR to ns-2.35 using keliu' code. It works fine with given
 tcl file. I need to move nodes according to mine own mobility scenario and
 compare them to AODV protocol.
 I have two problems
 1. I don't understand what this command in gpsr.tcl file means

 proc gpsr-create-mobile-node { id args } {
   .
 if [info exists opt(energy)] {
   $node addenergymodel [new $opt(energy) $node 10 0.5 0.2]}
   .

 What are these figures (0.5, 0.2), are these energy consumed in reception
 and transmission or some thing else.

 Secondly I want move mobile node created using proc defined in gpsr.tcl file
 according to my own mobility plan e.g.

 $ns_ at 0. $node_(0) setdest 144.816950690450 20.073824649527
 0.324133202939

 1.742469780423

 But when I run simulation it gives error like this:

Re: [ns] Ns-users Digest, Vol 90, Issue 4

2011-06-06 Thread marllus lustosa

Are you working with a module integrated into NS? The trace file (.tr)
generated can not be read into or xgraph tracegraph? My scripts also can not
 be read in these managers trace.

The solution that I am taking is to implement a tool in python to read the
parameters of the trace file and generate a graph of flow rate, jitter, packet
delay, energy consumption of network and single node ...

Tell me more about what to analyze the simulation.

Re: [ns] DSR AND AODV XGRAPH AND TRACEGRAPH

2011-06-06 Thread marllus lustosa

For umair shah!

 Are you working with a module integrated into NS? The trace file (.tr)
 generated can not be read into or xgraph tracegraph? My scripts also can
 not
  be read in these managers trace.

 The solution that I am taking is to implement a tool in python to read the
 parameters of the trace file and generate a graph of flow rate, jitter,
 packet
 delay, energy consumption of network and single node ...

 Tell me more about what to analyze the simulation.

 Hugs!

 I use Ns2.33 to run DSR. I cannot know why I test DSR with more than 10
 nodes  it has an error

 Could you please explain me why?? If you have a

 Any one has an idea about the difference between : active nodes and

 try this link

 http://140.112.21.101/~maxmilian/ns2/ns-allinone-2.31_with_maodv.zip

 it contains a ready version of ns-allinone 2.31 with maodv included.

 Also note that by installing 2.26 all in one package you don't damage
 anything. All the files of ns2 reside in its directory. if you wish to
 uninstall it all you need to do is delete the dir.

 as for using the right tcl version ,you can have an if condition in your
 bashrc as i do.
 i have a variable called NS in it and set it according to the NS-version i
 want to use .for example

 export NS=26
 source ~/.bashrc

 would load ns version 2.26 settings.

 It's quite easy once you understand how this works. I have 4 ns-versions on
 my system all working fine.

 good luck !

  I tried to install the 2.26 but it needs older version of tcl and I don't
  want to damage the 2.34 installation. I installed 2.31 but when I tried
 to

  Did it give you such error when you installed it? It would be really
  helpful if you uploaded them anyway. Thank you in any case.

  RTP packets to be sent to all of them.

  Also, I couldn't find a working version of either protocol (MAODV,ADMR)

  With ADMR one node can send RTP packets to nodes that belong to one
  multicast group but each one of them
  sends RTCP packets to that node (unicast), while with PUMA the nodes
  send RTCP packets to a multicast group address?

  They are all multicast protocols. Simply MAODV and ADMR allow use of
  unicast as well. The RTCP packets should only be sent to the sender
 and
  not to the whole group, so by sending them using a unicast mechanism
  you decrease the number of collisions in your setup.

 Dear ns -users,

 I am simulating DSR protocol in ns2-2.34 ; I have tried simulating it for
 100, 600,900,200 seconds . After running simulation the trace output is
 getting generated for only some random time like 120 sec approx in case of
 a
 900 sec simulation environment but not for the entire given simulation
 time,
 taking other randow stop times for different simulation times.
 tried simulating other protocols like aodv,dsdv with the same tcl script
 they are working fine . If there is somebody out there who could help me
 out
 of this please post a reply.

 Thanks and regards

 When I click to answer a msg, the email wrongly chooses the ones who wrote
 that msg, instead of the group, because this happens to me also, people
 answer directly to me instead the group.

 Is it to complicated to make this mailing list a google group? I think they
 work better..
