Scary.
did you

(1) run mktexlsr
(2) run texexec --make --alone
(1) - tells tex where to find files
(2) - makes a new format file
currently you have a conflicting system i.e. format file does not match
some run time files

[NTG-context] extra page when using alternative=doublesided and bodymatter

2003-07-31 Thread Tobias Burnus
Hello all,

(repost)

I have the following problem:
Using
  \setuppagenumbering[location={footer,right}]
  \startbodymatter
  \chapter{Hi}
  \stopbodymatter

I always get 3 pages, but I want to have two: The recto with Hi and its
verso, I don't want to have an extra recto!

RE: [NTG-context] \underbar not allowing line-breaking

In answer to my own question, and possibly as a bug report: line breaking
within \underbar{...} is broken when used in conjunction with

\setupalign[{right,nothyphenated}]

 Subject: [NTG-context] \underbar not allowing line-breaking

A quick question: \underbar is demonstrated in the manual as
 allowing lines
to break normally (page 204). In my texts line breaks won't happen in an
underlined phrase, meaning that they stick out into the right hand margin.
Is this a known problem, or does it work for other people?

 Thanks

[NTG-context] This is something Hans will love ...

2003-07-31 Thread Giuseppe Bilotta
Hey Hans,

this was just announced on comp.text.tex:

 Name of contribution: PerlTeX
Name and email: Scott Pakin ...
 Suggested location on CTAN: macros/latex/contrib/supported/perltex
Summary description: Define LaTeX macros in terms of Perl code
 License type: LaTeX Project

 Announcement text:
 --
PerlTeX is a combination Perl script (perltex) and
LaTeX2e style file (perlmacros) that, together, give
the user the ability to define LaTeX macros in terms of
Perl code. Once defined, a Perl macro becomes
indistinguishable from any other LaTeX macro. PerlTeX
thereby combines LaTeX's typesetting power with Perl's
 programmability.
 --

So ... when are we going to have the same feature in ConTeXt?
After all, we already need a wrapper script (texexec) to run
it, right?

[NTG-context] m-bibtex: cite numberation problems

2003-07-31 Thread Tobias Burnus
Hi,

I want to cite:
 [1], [2].

Using \setuppublications[numbering=yes,refcommand=number]

I get [1], [3] in the text and 1, 2 in the References list.

Has anyone seen a problem like this?

Tobias

PS: While clicking on the items in the Reference list jumps to the
refering page, the opposite is not possible.

I go and see that I get my TeX installation updated (does somebody

most efficiently in Mac OS X? ).
dunno, maybe we have to make a simple apple script: fetch cont-tmf and
regenerate format
I have been thinking about (and have had requests for) a ConTeXt-update
i-Package, given that I am going to use ConTeXt and that ConTeXt
changes rather frequently compared to teTeX's texmf tree.

Hans, can you mail me off list what actions are needed to install the
current ConTeXt in th eteTeX texmf tree?

[NTG-context] How to run context under mac os x - was(is): beginner's hazzles with backgrounds and definitions.

Hello again, this is presumably only for the the Mac people on the list.

Below is what I tried to update Gerden's i-installed teTex with the most
recent context:

(I remove all directories that occur in the context distribution, and
then copy them. There is most likely a one liner for all of this in some
shell, but my unix knowledge is from days when nobody new how to
spell copyright)

(everything w/ sudo)

(Thanks to Hans once more for pointing out politely that I had no clue
that the last two lines are important).

They produce reasonable output that makes me believe that they are working with the
TeX installation I updated and not the other one (fink). It would be nice to know how to
modify that one, too, but before I will try that: It still doesn't work. I get the same
error message as before (see below), indicating that I have messed up the TeX installation.
Is it maybe necessary to tell either of the last two commands where the files
are it should update?
