[NTG-context] No hyphenation in Bulgarian

2015-05-03 Thread Thomas Floeren
Hi,

I have to typeset a Bulgarian document but the hyphenation doesn’t work. The
lang-bg.lua file is not loaded, according to the log. (All four lang-bg files
are present in /tex/texmf-context/tex/context/patterns/)

\usetypescriptfile[type-gentium]
\usetypescript[gentium]
\setupbodyfont[gentium,12pt]
\mainlanguage [bg]
\starttext
\hyphenatedword{програмираната}
\stoptext

Do I have to do anything special, in addition to \mainlanguage [bg] ?

Russian hyphenation does work.

Thanks for any advice.

[NTG-context] Mark off boxes

2015-05-03 Thread henman

I am trying to create a form which will use check boxes in it.
I tried to use the \bigsquare character for the check box and put in in
an itemize list.

The \bigsquare character, however does not display however in the
itemized list, but will display by itself. What do you normally do for
check boxes?

Here is a minimal example:

-
\definesymbol[5]{\bigsquare}

\starttext
This is a big square: \bigsquare
  \startitemize[5]
 \item Choice a does not have a check box.
 \item Choice b also does not have a check box.
 \item Not really a choice. No checkbox (bitsquare) here either.
   \stopitemize
\stoptext

I guess you are asking for the complete *and correct* setup?

So, I don’t know, I have no clue of Bulgarian; for the moment I’m using the
settings from the other cyrillic languages (ru, uk) in lang-def.mkiv

\installlanguage
[bg]
[lefthyphenmin=2,
righthyphenmin=2,
patterns=bg,
spacing=packed,
leftsentence=\leftguillemot,
rightsentence=\rightguillemot,
leftsubsentence=\lowerleftdoubleninequote,
rightsubsentence=\upperrightdoubleninequote,
leftquote=\lowerleftdoubleninequote,
rightquote=\upperrightdoubleninequote,
leftquotation=\leftguillemot,
rightquotation=\rightguillemot,
date={day,\space,month,\space,year}]

I needed hyphenation in order to typeset the first revision of a translated
book. I have to wait for feedback from the translator to tell if these settings
are OK for bg.

Many thanks for your reply, Thomas.

I read xml-mkiv.pdf four or five times, but I must confess that it is
all Greek to me.

And chapter 7 is especially cryptic to me, In fact, I tried
\xmlattribute {#1} {../div} {id} before and it didn’t worked. Now I
don’t understand why.

Mamy thanks for your help,

You can create your own box with the \framed command.

\definesymbol[BigSquare][{\framed[strut=no,width=1.5ex,height=1.5ex]{}}]

\starttext

This is a big square: \symbol[BigSquare].

\startitemize[BigSquare]
  \item Choice a does not have a check box.

Hi Alan,

I’m experiencing the same issue
(http://www.ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context/2015/082012.html).

After checking tex/context/base/context.mkiv from
http://pragma-ade.com/context/beta/cont-tmf.zip, I’m afraid that the
files aren’t updated (replying to my own question in the message linked
above).

Just in case it helps,

The problem is that we are fetching files from rsync and judging from
the past experience Hans is usually unable to access his servers while
at BachoTeX, so most likely he updated the website, but not the rsync
server.

I will switch to http.

[NTG-context] Why is context.mkii out of date?

2015-05-03 Thread Mojca Miklavec
Hi,

I created some documents with MKII and started wondering why pdfinfo was showing

Creator:ConTeXt - 2013.06.07 17:34
Producer:   pdfTeX-1.40.16
CreationDate:   Sun May  3 11:18:14 2015
ModDate:ConTeXt - 2013.06.07 17:34

I first thought that I accidentally used TeX Live 2013 and had to
tripple-check until I realized that context.mkii actually defines
\edef\contextversion{2013.06.07 17:34}
Why is that?

While I understand that MkII is basically frozen, it would be nice if
pdf reported the version of ConTeXt that was actually used.

(ModDate might also be wrong. In MkIV it's the same as CreationDate.
And in MkIV Creator uses one extra space at the beginning.)

Thank you,
Mojca

Hi Mojca,

I see another mismatch,
http://www.pragma-ade.com/general/qrcs/setup-en.pdf has the following
ConTeXt version:

Creator: ConTeXt - 2015.05.01 18:45
Producer:   LuaTeX-0.80.0
CreationDate:   Fri May  1 18:46:28 2015

(I use this file to check wheter a new beta has been released.)

The same information is provided at http://pragma-ade.com/download-1.htm
for the latest beta: 2015-05-01 18:47.

But after having updated my distribution to latest beta (I did it
yesterday), I get this info from one generated PDF document:

Creator: ConTeXt - 2015.04.18 14:41
Producer:   LuaTeX-0.80.0
CreationDate:   Sun May  3 10:26:10 2015

Is this only a mismatch in numbers but also in files?

Many thanks for your help,

Pablo
