I am looking for a utility that auto reboots Windows 2000 servers.
I know with NT 4.0 and Terminal servers you would use the "shutdown.exe"
from NT Resource Kit.

I have not been able to find this utility on the Windows 2000 Resource Kit.
Doe anybody know what I can use for scheduled reboots of Windows 2000
Servers?

TIA

perhaps using shutdown.exe too

Re: Auto Reboot W2K Servers

2001-09-17 Thread Vashek Weis

Although others on this list wrote you can use SHUTDOWN.EXE for NT, which
is probably true, there is also the same program on the Win2K Server
Resource Kit CD. You didn't find it because it's hidden in the NETMGMT.CAB
file. You can extract it manually. It's intended to shut down remote Win2K
Pro workstation but can also be used on servers.

Precisely, write a batch file to restart the notes services, and use the
Task Scheduler. It will clear the RAM for you.

Throwing the baby out with the bathwater?

Why not just stop the Notes service(s) and restart them?

Frankly, I like uptime. If I can't keep a server up for a quarter or
two, I look to flog someone...
