 I was using PrmanRender to generate my shadows, and this solution 
doesn't work with that node (the shadow disappears, as well as the 
creature). But with ScanlineRender, feeding the casting geom black RGBA

I'm trying to render cast shadows in Nuke, from a creature (alembic), 
onto some ground geom (alembic). I can get the creature casting shadows, 
but the creature is visible, which I don't want. I only want the shadow 
visible.


Is there any way to turn off the creature visibility to camera, while 
keeping the cast shadows?

Yes, some of them are different.  Srgb clamps in the read node but does not
clamp in with the colorspace node.  So if your artists accidentally
rendered a gamma encoded file into an EXR file, then make sure you use the
colorspace node.
