Re: [onap-discuss] MSO code flow to OpenStack for Orchestration

2017-06-28 Thread Danny Lin
I think we are aligned, as that is the goal of R1 of Multi-VIM/Cloud project,
ie, supporting the existing functionality of SO, APP-C, VNF-C, and a few other
components, while maintaining the compatibility to OpenStack.

No, you're not misreading it. A layer of mediation is a requirement of
multi-VIM. There is however, no "requirement" (using the term strictly), for
SO to use it, particularly if it jeopardizes SO, and therefore the entire
system. Having said that, obviously if multi-VIM is available as planned in
R1, and it provides all the needed functionality required by the use cases,
then it should be used. This only makes sense because the MSO already has
Openstack capability. It wouldn't make sense if a brand new interface had to
be developed as an alternative. IOW, SO needs multi-VIM, but has a fallback.

Apologies if I am misreading this -- it seems like interposing at least some
layer of mediation in front of "raw" OpenStack calls is a pretty clear

If that's already covered in MultiVIM, then would the question be more about
minimizing technical debt due to non-future-proof workflows or other tooling?

[onap-discuss] DCAE Health-Check is failing

2017-06-28 Thread Subhash Kumar Singh
Hello Everyone,

We are trying run the robot test case (ete.sh) to test the health status of
DCAE service but it is failing:

So, following are the questions that we would like to ask:

1] We observed that in created docker instance

2] In the hosts file we are observing one more host entry :

Re: [onap-discuss] DCAE Health-Check is failing

2017-06-28 Thread PLATANIA, MARCO (MARCO)
Subash,

DCAE takes longer to install. The DCAE controller spins up 5 additional VMs off
the Heat template. This takes about 25 minutes, plus configuration time.
Overall, please allow about one hour before running health checks. The VMs may
be ready but still getting configured (the Hadoop/CDAP cluster takes the
longest).

Regarding point 3) that you mention, those floating IPs will be used by the 5
additional VMs that DCAE controller spins up. If they are not in use, it’s
likely that those VMs haven’t been created yet.

Thanks,
Marco

Subhash

These IP Address you will mention in the onap configuration files .

To check which application is holding these ip address .

you can login to each docker container and check netstat -tunlp | grep
ipaddress -- you should see some application running on those ip address and on
specific port .

thanks

I believe MSO supports keystone 3, so you can use onap except for dcae, but
Robot does not currently support keystone v3 so the demo scripts will not work.

Hello Everyone,

We are trying run the robot test case (ete.sh) to test the health status of

So, following are the questions that we would like to ask:

1] We observed that in created docker instance

2] In the hosts file we are observing one more host entry :

could you please let us know which host/service it is referring, as we are
seeing the error message around this IP:

Subhash,
  In our experience the 5 DCAE vms come up between 10 and 60 min (the last 3
will be the CDAP cluster) - this depends on how long the build takes and on
pulls from nexus (the VMs are provisioned on the fly).

   See the deployment diagram on the wiki (the VM below is from the onap heat
template, the 5 DCAE VMS are provisioned by this DCAE controller)

I had the same observation with new "new" HEAT template which uses 2 AAI

has solved this issue for me.
Btw, running demo.sh init second time creates an error (I believe this is

[onap-discuss] AAI-resources docker compose goes into a loop

2017-06-28 Thread Arul Nambi
Hi Guys,
I am trying to install ONAP in my VM.
I have the correct snapshot version for 1.1 and the container are downloaded
fine,
deploy_vm2.sh is all working fine for me, but when I run the deploy_vm1.sh, the
aai-resources docker image is failing to start which in turn gets the script
into a loop.
When I check the logs of the docker image the error I see is
fatal: unable to access 'http://gerrit.onap.org/r/aai/aai-config.git/': Could
not resolve host: gerrit.onap.org
Error: Unable to clone the aai-config repo with url:
http://gerrit.onap.org/r/aai/aai-config.git

This error is from the from line 32 in docker-entrypoint.sh(gerrit
link)
Not initially I thought that it might be because of the proxy and setup the
proxy in the yml file, and I still had the issue. On further debugging I
noticed that the network setting for the docker image is not configured properly

Re: [onap-discuss] [onap-tsc] Integration Testing Participants for Amsterdam Release Use Cases

2017-06-28 Thread MAHER, RANDA
Helen,

For APPC, we will contribute to vCPE use case as part of the close loop flow on
the assumption that Restart action is on VM level and not VNF.
For the vFW/VDNS, we will contribute as part of regression since these are part
of the initial demo use cases; i.e., anything that worked in the past, needs to
continue working with release 1.
I don’t see anything for APPC in the current approved use case for release 1.

Thanks, Randa

2017-06-28 Thread PUTHENPURA, SARAT (SARAT)
Policy Framework Committers,

I would like to nominate myself for PTL for the ONAP - Optimization Framework
Project.

I have been involved in various optimization and related work in AT&T for
nearly 30 years, with some fundamental contributions in the area. For the past
2 years I have been heavily involved in AT&T ECOMP - specifically in creating
an optimization framework, with applications on multiple fronts.

Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to working with the ONAP

Re: [onap-discuss] Robot vm script automation

2017-06-28 Thread Nayan Deshmukh

Fixing integration_preload_parameter.py for multiple VNFs won't be straight forward thing, but in the mean time we can at least fix the integration_robot_properties.py to not use harcoded values. When I deployed ONAP with a different network cidr for private net, the robot vm was the only place where I had to fix value, other than there were no hardcoded values in the stack. I'll try to send in a patch to avoid hardcoded values as is done in dns-server vm later today.

Nayan

The preload values for the demo VFW originate from the following section of the integration_preload_parameters.py.

# heat template parameter values for heat template instances created for hands on demo test case
  "Demo" : {
       "vfw_preload.template": {

"unprotected_private_net_id" : "demofwl_unprotected",
           "unprotected_private_net_cidr" : "192.168.110.0/24",

"protected_private_net_id" : "demofwl_protected",
           "protected_private_net_cidr" : "192.168.120.0/24",
           "vfw_private_ip_0" : "192.168.110.100",
           "vfw_private_ip_1" : "192.168.120.100",
           "vfw_private_ip_2" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.11",
           "vpg_private_ip_0" : "192.168.110.200",
           "vpg_private_ip_1" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.12",
           "vsn_private_ip_0" : "192.168.120.250",
           "vsn_private_ip_1" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.13",

'vfw_name_0':'demofwl01fwl',
           'vpg_name_0':'demofwl01pgn',
           'vsn_name_0':'demofwl01snk',

The values here were not intended to support more than 1 simultaneous instance of the demo vFW. Changing network ids  and host names  (in
red) should enable simultaneous instantiations.

Note that the automated ETE configurations use a dynamically generated ${hostid} to uniquely identify network ids  and host names (in
red) to enable simultaneous instantiations. This pattern may be used for the “Demo” section
 as well

# heat template parameter values for heat template instances created during Vnf-Orchestration test cases
    "Vnf-Orchestration" : {
    "vfw_preload.template": {
    "unprotected_private_net_id" : "vofwl01_unprotected${hostid}",
    "unprotected_private_net_cidr" : "192.168.10.0/24",
   "protected_private_net_id" : "vofwl01_protected${hostid}",
    "protected_private_net_cidr" : "192.168.20.0/24",
    "vfw_private_ip_0" : "192.168.10.100",
    "vfw_private_ip_1" : "192.168.20.100",
    "vfw_private_ip_2" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.1",
    "vpg_private_ip_0" : "192.168.10.200",
    "vpg_private_ip_1" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.2",
    "vsn_private_ip_0" : "192.168.20.250",
    "vsn_private_ip_1" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.3",
    'vfw_name_0':'vofwl01fwl${hostid}',
    'vpg_name_0':'vofwl01pgn${hostid}',
    'vsn_name_0':'vofwl01snk${hostid}',
    },

A note about the ${ecompnet} parameter. This is  GLOBAL_BUILD_NUMBER%255 (-v GLOBAL_BUILD_NUMBER:1928 from
 the example below). These IPs are part of the ONAP OAM network defined by the ONAP heat template (subnet 10.0.0.0/8). Use of ${ecompnet}  minimizes the potential for conflict on these network resources.

For complete control of preload values, you can modify the network ids, host names and ${ecompnet}  in the “Demo” section for each instantiation  or you can update the “Demo” section to follow
 the “Vnf-Orchestration” pattern using ${hostid} and ${ecompnet} to enable simultaneous instantiations with generated host and network ids.

Later
Jerry

Ajay,
   Yes, there is an open jira on these hardcoded values (changes to your env have no effect over the sample values).  Until this is fixed you can only have one
 instance of the vFW or vLB up.
