Thanks for reply, Alexis. I was asking why nameserver in ONAP pods is always
set to 10.43.0.10. I found there is a pod named heat-bootstrap- which is
supposed to manage DCAE deployment. And this pod will install some package like
openstack client which is used in entrypoint.sh to do some preparation work
before DCAE VMs are created. Problem is this 10.43.0.10 can’t be reached so
DCAE deploy can’t be carried out.

However, I do feel confused about how to set up a working Designate. The guide
https://onap.readthedocs.io/en/amsterdam/guides/onap-developer/settingup/install-designate.html?highlight=designate
have some instruction but I still don't get how to set Designate to forward
request to internet. Can you provide some steps in details? The OpenStack
Designate documentation seems more introductory to use 127.0.0.1.

I’m not sure to fully understand the issue wrt dns. Is it when deploying DCAE
with OOM? If so, here are the requirement:

Have support for DNS Designate, and configure DNS Designate backend to forward
request to an external DNS to resolve internet facing domain name.

All the VMs will be configured to point to DNS Designate backend IP address,
which means all the VMs will be able to resolve internal domain (the one for
dcae vms, and the one for simpledemo.onap.org that
will be created in DNS Designate during the provisioning of DCAE), and the
external domains, as DNS Designate will recurse the request if not able to
resolve.

Do you have an onap_dns server in your setup? In the heat-based ONAP, it
looks like there’s an onap_dns server that provides name resolution for the
various components, and then it may use some openstack DNS service called
designate to get out to the real world (e.g. 8.8.8.8).
Two things that might come out of that - if you just jump out to 8.8.8.8, you
may not get local name resolution. Secondly, perhaps the 10.43.0.10 is
supposed to be the local onap_dns server? That doesn’t sound like the address
defaulted in the heat template for ONAP on O.S., however.

Yes, if you register for ONS then are unable to come due to not obtaining a 
Visa in time, the LF will refund your registration fee.

Greetings Jorge,

The staging artifacts have always been deployed to a repository titled
autorelease- (or something similar if they have a different staging
profile). The use of the staging meta-repository was always seen as a
best effort sort of repository. Unfortunately, due to sever limitations
with how the staging subsystem of Nexus operates it was starting to
cause more and more problems for the system. As such, our forced hack to
make it operate more like a SNAPSHOT repository was disabled at the same
time that staging repositories were removed from the automatic
repository resolution in our builds (~1.5 months before Amsterdam released).

We will not be re-enabling that hack as it caused serious problem with
the system with how many staging repositories we operate.

The Springboot initializer is a jumpstart utility for using Spring & Springboot 
for various puposes.  The utility is found here: https://start.spring.io/.  It 
lets you use a menu to add application options to a base Springboot package.  
The result is a maven project that can be downloaded for Eclipse, including a 
pom.xml that shows all the dependencies for your application bundle.
It happens that AJSC6 bundle is based on Springboot initializer bundle 1.5.10.  
This is what we are currently migrating to.  It's dependencies are shown in the 
2nd column on Sheet2.
The first column shows the dependencies for a bundle in testing now to succeed 
1.5.10(version 2.0.0 RC2).  It was built with these application options:  
Actuator, Aspects, WEB,  Cloud Bootstrap, Security, JMS, Retry, Jersey(JAX-RS). 
 As these options were added, the dependency list for the 2.0.0 RC2 better 
matched the AJSC 6-based AAI dependency set.
When the scan results for AJSC6 are found to have issues, the 2.0.0 RC2 list 
can suggest successor replacements.  For instance, AJSC6 includes "logback 
1.17."  The 2.0.0 RC2 list includes "logback 1.23."  The other aspect of the 
2.0.0 RC2 list is that it shows versions of different jars that have some 
testing mileage on them together.  So if we have to swap out one or two items, 
it may make sense to upgrade others to match this list.

[onap-discuss] SDC-Cassandra not starting up

Hello SDC Team,

Good Morning. I am from TechMahindra. We have deployed SDC component w.r.t ONAP 
on our lab. The release version used is Amsterdam(v.1.1.0). We seem to be 
noticing that SDC-Cassandra is not starting up.
Not sure if it's the problem with ruby version used inside the container. Could 
you please help us on this.
I have just raised a jira ticket on the same.

[onap-discuss] Regarding Full ONAP installation

Hello team,

I went through the documentation on setting up entire ONAP using docker and
kubernetes. But there is not any straight forward procedure given that I
can follow.
Is there any pdf or ppt made by you guys just for the installation of ONAP
using Kubernetes. Please share it with me.
If not, then please update the docs because its very complicated and
difficult to understand. The steps are not specified clearly.
I would really appreciate it if you could share something with me. It would
be a lot helpful.

I’m not sure to fully understand the issue wrt dns. Is it when deploying DCAE 
with OOM? If so, here are the requirement:

Have support for DNS Designate, and configure DNS Designate backend to forward 
request to an external DNS to resolve internet facing domain name.

All the VMs will be configured to point to DNS Designate backend IP address, 
which means all the VMs will be able to resolve internal domain (the one for 
dcae vms, and the one for simpledemo.onap.org  
that will be created in DNS Designate during the provisioning of DCAE), and the 
external domains, as DNS Designate will recurse the request if not able to 
resolve.

Hi

Does anyone know what is the minimum hardware requirement of ONAP related to 
CPUs?

Currently the MSB requires SSE 4.2 to be 
available which means 
Nehalem-based Intel 
CPUs.
This introduces significant limitations on the possible hardware platforms on 
which ONAP
can be deployed on.
