[onap-tsc] ONAP items for online store

2018-10-22 Thread Nermin Mohamed
Hi,

There is web store that was launched spring 2018. This web store provides a
catalog of items available for anyone and it will also be used to provide swag
for events e.g a code will be distributed at the events and recipients will
redeem them for free items and free shipping from the web store.

We are in the process of finalizing our 2019 marketing budget and would like to
include budget for additional items for the web store so We want to collect a
feedback from the ONAP community on the items that you all would like to have
in 2019.

Please send your feedback to Casey, Lisa and myself cc'd above

Here is the link to the web store https://linuxfoundation.store/ . It is also
accessible from the main Wiki from the "about" section of onap.org.

Thanks!
Nermin

Re: [onap-tsc] [onap-discuss] Rewarding committers and coders

2017-08-23 Thread Nermin Mohamed
For Individual contributors, I think we can have up to 4 categories

  * Contributor to ONAP development: Individual who builds the code for new
features and enhancements and feed it to the seed code, prototype/testing,
resolve issues/backlog issues and bug fixes.
  * Contributor to ONAP quality: testing and integrating ONAP in
labs/POCs/Trials, resolve issues and problems and make sure ONAP is ready for
actual deployment
  * Contributor to ONAP deployment: Deploy ONAP and its applications in real
networks
  * Contributor to ONAP promotion: Help Create high quality, accurate and
clear ONAP documentation, tutorials, videos
We need to define a measurable criteria and goals for the individual to win one
of these awards.
Good suggestions below by Alla however I disagree with some of those identified
below e.g ,

· Attending meetings: as people can attend the meeting and add no value.

· Asist others: as it is a very soft criteria and more of a people’s
opinion than facts

I'll add one more category:

Contributions to technical marketing content.

This is vital to the success of the project, especially the first release.

Thanks, Lisa

Hi Mazin, all,

I believe we should reward when Release finishes, and this would be “the most
contributing developer” category, while each project will have a possibility to
announce its winner. Each project will have to determine what is measured, and
it would be, I guess, a combination of (but, of course, not limited to):

1. Code commits

2. Email discussion participation

3. Meetings’ attendance

4. Willingness to assist others

5. Level of cooperation with other projects, subcommittees etc.

If same person is rewarded, let’s say, 2 (or 3 ) times, we can think of a more
significant reward.

ONAP Community,

I hope you are enjoying what remains of the summer.

I wanted to kick off a discussion on ideas for rewarding top committers and
coders.
How often we should do this, type of rewards, ideas on promoting diversity,
bases for the rewards (lines, commits, etc). Should we introduce badges?

We will complete this discussion at the F2F meeting in France and start
executing your ideas.

Thanks!

Good idea Mazin!

I suggest that we at least have three awards for the following,

* Company award: most contributing company to the community (technical
and business)

* Module or Project: awarded to the whole project team who made the
most progress in their projects

* Individual contributor award: most contributing to the actual
development

The awards can be quarterly, yearly or per ONAP release.

I suggest simple awards that can be pins, certificate, plaque, trophy, art glass

Re: [onap-tsc] [Onap-marketing] Reminder & updated information - ONAP Mini Summit at OPNFV 2017 - June 12 - From 9.00 am to 12. 30 pm

2017-05-26 Thread Nermin Mohamed
All,
I think it is better to have the ONAP summit last day similar w=to what we did
in ONS and we then have Marketing, TSC and GB meetings and social events.

Some people may be traveling on Sunday and may miss the first day of OPNFV
summit. In order to have most people attend, we should move the event to
Thursday.

Thanks!

Nermin/Mazin,

This is a very good initiative. Can I suggest that there is a plan to include
module(s) that describe how ONAP relates to the standards bodies that are also
playing an important role in the NFV ecosystem.

I see mention of "ecosystem" and "upstream projects". I don't see explicit
mention of standards.

ONAP adoption is in part dependent on those relationships being productive to
avoid fragmentation and to be compatible with corporate mandates around
telecommunications standards.

There is a list of relevant bodies being developed as part of the TSC Standards
and Open Source coordinator discussion. The needed educational material could
be coordinated through that effort.

For example an extensive body of tutorial material already exists for ETSI NFV.
I'm sure similar collateral exists amongst the other bodies.

Best regards,
Don Clarke.
