[Call-for-Review]Two issues about font size change in document.

2012-08-06 Thread Chen Peng
Hi All,
I have fixed two problems about font size change in document, as shown
in below:

 1. *Bug 119649*
- [From
Symphony]Hyperlink font size increased if saved to .doc file
 https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=119649
 *Root Cause:
* In the id definition, RES_TXTATR_INETFMT must precede
RES_TXTATR_CHARFMT, so that link
style can overwrite char style. And in #i24291# it describes
"All we want to do is ensure for now is
that if a charfmt exist in the character properties that it
rises to the top and is exported first.",
so hyperlink text property will override the original text
property in this situation.
 *Resolution:
* Ignore the link style in such situation when doing ms word
filter exports.

 2. *Bug 119650*
- [From
Symphony]Font size increased if saved by AOO
 https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=119650
 *Root Cause:
*The properties of CHP PLC was not broken after a paragraph
ending.
 *Resolution:
* Add such broken after paragraph ending.

Thank you very much if you can help me to review them!

...and recently we had a question about Win 98 wasn't it? I think the last
version that ran with that was in the 2.x range, though I can't recall what.

Is it at all beneficial to try to keep a table of what (A)OOo version ran
on what to address some of these users?

I thought I might find the "old" release notes *with* the old source
archives but alas I did not, so no answers unless we consult the "way back
machine".

Anyway, if we don't care to keep a history list (or can't), then we should
delete Win 2000.

Latest Oracle JRE to support Win2K is Java 6 update 30 or thereabouts.
Then Oracle stopped supporting it. So even the latest Java6 update
will NOT install on Win2K. (it will run, however, I hammered it into my
Win2K VM)

Java7 does not support Win2k. :-(

I personally think win2k was the best windows ever, due to its low
kernel footprint and low system requirements, which makes it specially
well suited to run virtualized (nt to mention embedded).

I really think the win32 API is good enough to allow most devs to
support "win2k onwards" like some FOSS projects do (ie Nullsoft´s
Winamp, MPlayer for Windows, etc)... however most follow MSFT and
their compilers, so eventually they run into dependencies that makes
supporting older releases impossible :-(

Oh well, I can dream with an AOO built with OpenWatcom
(www.openwatcom.org) some day, not to depend on Microsoft´s VC
runtime... . ;)

Back to reality, I guess nothing of the above will happen...

Of course, I would still like to make a case for linux windows environments

Do we *really* support Windows 2000?

2012-08-06 Thread Rob Weir
We're listing Windows 2000 SP2 as a supported platform in our System
Requirements page:
http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/source/sys_reqs_aoo34.html

But has anyone actually tested with Windows 2000?

I tried to install Windows 2000, but I can't even get the ISO image
from MSDN. They pulled it years ago, apparently as part of a legal
settlement related to Java:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ff723773.aspx

Unless anyone is actually testing with Windows 2000, and we're willing
to treat failures in Windows 2000 as ship blocking issues, I'd
recommend that we stop listing it as a supported platform.

Not sure I understand the questions.

That URL is where Maven projects will download Commons Logging from if
they have a dependency (direct or indirect) on it.

It is the default Maven repository which is embedded in Maven, but
there's no reason why you should not download jars from it using Ant
or any other build tool.

I'm not sure if it is a designed behavior.

Steps to reproduce are very simple:
1. Create a presentation with built-in template.
2. Switch to Handout view. Issue: you will notice that the handout view
display only a blank slide.
Do you mean that the view is completely empty (only a white rectangle)

The first would be an error, the second is the intended behavior.

3. Related issue: if you switch from Handout view to Outline view, there

4. Not sure if related: it happened twice that when I switch quickly

If it is not a designed behavior, I will open a defect in BZ.

Ubuntu package for building AOO

2012-08-06 Thread Andre Fischer

Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that over the weekend I played around
with Ubuntu metapackages and came up with one that pulls in all
packages that have to be installed in order to build Apache OpenOffice.

I have put the relevant files in my public_html directory on
people.apache.org. Try it out by adding it as additional package

I assume it's a 64 bits only issue (it happens that we support 64 bits
only in Linux), I base my assumption in the following:

- I can't reproduce it on Ubuntu 10.4 32 bits

   - Ubuntu 10.4 64 bits
   - Fedora 1764 bits
- Josef reproduced it on Ubuntu 12.04 64 bits
- Rory couldn't reproduce it on Ubuntu 11.10 32 bits

This can't be a build bug: I made a full clean build (and just for
testing once again, I rebuilt it just now, and is still reproducible).

I've just installed rev. 1369110 on a dual boot machine (Ubuntu 11.10 32 bit and Windows
XP 32 bit). Working to the same printer, Ubuntu printed the four pages of the test file
correctly, Windows printed the first page, followed by three blank pages (correct page
count). I tried Windows printing to page 1-4, with same result. But if I tell it to
print in reverse order, it prints all pages! It will also print any page selected by
number. Having done all that, it still will only print page 1 followed by three blank
pages if I tell it to print "all".

So Ubuntu 11:10 32bit passes
Windows XP 32 bit fails

build 9110 contains no fix for both described issues above.

- the print problem is analyzed and already fixed, it will be in the
next snapshot

- the password problem is under investigation ...
64 bit only problem sounds reasonable but we have to check what's going
wrong.

This really is a 64bit-only problem. Due to a recent modification
encryption and digest type are internally stored as 64bit values on
64bit compilers. When they are later converted into 32bit values the
conversion fails silently and the verification of the password fails also.
With 32bit compilers the values are stored internally as 32bit values
and the conversion is OK.

For details see issue 120385
(https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=120385).

Fixed in SVN revision 1369843 on branch AOO34.

I did a full matrix of tests on Windows XP, creating a password
protected file in each of OOo 3.3.0, AOO 3.4.1 and the '110 snapshot.
This was a simple "Hello world!" text document with password=password.

1) The file created in OOo 3.3.0 was read correctly in all three versions.

2) The file created in AOO 3.4.0 was read correctly in all three versions.

3)The file created in AOO 3.4.0 was read correctly in all three versions.

So I'm not seeing the problem in my env. But Regina is reporting a
problem. So I think we need to clarify whether she is testing files
created on 32-bit Windows OOo/AOO, or whether she was testing with
Ariel's documents created on Linux-64?

I think mso..Segm[] use a different numbering pattern. You can find more

Below is my understanding for custom shape segment.
An segment is consist of two parts: command and count. It is described

basic command and the low 5 bits is used to show extended command. See my
attachment for details.
Taking "0x4000" as an example, it means command is moveto and count is 0.
Moveto is shown with "2" and occupy the first 3 bits of high byte. So
0x40

The values shown in Basic follow the EnhancedCustomShapeSegmentComm**and

  Hi all,

I'm currently learning, how custom shapes work. I know already, how to
write them directly in the XML file format, I understand what I see in
Basic, I understand mso_sptxxxVer[], mso_sptxxxCalc[], and
mso_sptxxxGluePoints[].

But now I stuck with mso_sptxxxSegm[]. I understand the "Segments" as
they
are shown in Basic, but I cannot map that to mso_sptxxxSegm[].

For example for custom shape "Parallelogram" I see in Basic:
Command Count Command Count Command Count Command Count
 1 1 2 3 4 0 5 0
which is
M L L L Z N

In mso_sptParallelogramSegm[] I read
 0x4000, 0x0003, 0x6001, 0x8000
and have no idea, how that fits together.

Can someone give me a pointer or explain it to me?

Kind regards
Regina

An important point, Jürgen: rev. 1369110 can save and open passworded files.
It is legacy passworded files that do not open, as I understand it.

This time attachment is provided with doc file.
I think mso..Segm[] use a different numbering pattern. You can find more
details for them in MS specification "[MS-ODRAW].pdf".

thanks for your answer. Unfortunately the attachment was stripped. Can
you please sent me the attachment directly or provide it for download?

Jianyuan Li schrieb:

Hi, Regina,

Below is my understanding for custom shape segment.
An segment is consist of two parts: command and count. It is described with
an integer with two bytes. The high byte describes command and the low byte
describes count. For the high byte, the high 3 bits is used to show the
basic command and the low 5 bits is used to show extended command. See my
attachment for details.
Taking "0x4000" as an example, it means command is moveto and count is 0.
Moveto is shown with "2" and occupy the first 3 bits of high byte. So 0x40
will be calculated.

The values shown in Basic follow the EnhancedCustomShapeSegmentCommand
from the idl reference. There MOVETO is 1. Does mso..Segm[] use a
different numbering pattern?

Kind regards
Regina
