[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] New development project in Evergreen

2012-11-15 Thread Suzannah
Bibliomation, Inc. is
sponsoring some Evergreen Open Source ILS
 enhancements.
Specifically, the development will address two enhancements: 1) adding
the call number to each item saved in My Lists and 2) refreshing the
item status screen to show updated call numbers in Edit Volumes, call
number display. Equinox Software
developers are writing the
code for this development project. Equinox anticipates the coding will
be completed by the end of December 2012. Once the coding is complete,
it will be submitted to the Evergreen Community for inclusion in the
next major release of Evergreen.

Happy Thanksgiving to all and a special thanks to Bibliomation for
funding this development project.

Regards,
Suzannah

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Reports Troubleshooting

2012-11-15 Thread Ben Shum

Hi Geoff,

I think killing clark-kent is a bit brute force, but I've done it myself
on a few occasions for bad runaway reports.

I'd also suggest a look over
http://evergreen-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=scratchpad:random_magic_spells#cancel_query_report
to see how one would cancel a report from the database side of things.

I also use SELECT * FROM reporter.currently_running; to see what reports
are holding up the line too.

I don't believe those options are available in 2.2. They didn't come

If available I recommend using the OPAC Visible, Search Label, and "Is

Simple Selector" options. The latter puts the option above a "--" line

to keep it at the top and is most useful with "code" values that are
comma delimited sets (like, say, "a,t" to get both kinds of language
material). Turning OPAC Visible off will hide values without needing
to delete them, and the Search Label overrides Value for the search
boxes but allows the MARC values to appear in reports if they are
based on reading things from the value maps as a translator for human

benefit.

Hi Michael.

To change those, you need to edit the names or remove them in the
staff client.

Go to Admin -> Server Administration -> MARC Coded Value Maps

In the Record Attribute Type drop-down, select "Type":

This should pull up the list corresponding to your TPAC options.

Edit the "Value" field to change label in the TPAC.

Delete list items as desired.

Warning: I think this will effect all library TPACs in your
consortium, so consult others as needed. ;-)

Good Morning,

I have searched the threads and found some info regarding Dymo printers but
not exactly what I was looking for. Our Okidata died last week and we are
leaning toward Dymos to do our spine label printing. It seems the Dymos are
pretty popular. We are kind of under a time crunch since we are dead in the
water for now with no printer. I am hoping someone can post or send me the
information and/or settings for the Dymos in Evergreen. We run 1,000 to
1,500 labels a month so typing them into the Dymo software is not an option.
I think I will be getting a Dymo Twin Turbo and 2 or 3 Dymo Duos. I
assuming (which is always dangerous) that any of the Dymos are compatible
with Evergreen. Thanks in advance for any information you can share.
