Re: Automatic sound muting - threshold is too low
I don't think this is related. The activity level threshold is configurable in config.xml, but it seems to only affect the aforementioned (and non-working atm) green audio led. By the way, OM is really, really promising and works quite well yet. There's a common feature in VoIP programs that mutes the output sound if the level stays below a certain threshold for some time. As far as I know, it's called a gate fetaure and it's also used in musing mixing (listen to some 80's records and you'll probably hear it!). For VoIP, I guess it's there to limit bandwidth usage and somewhat prevent feedback issues to occur. Anyway, is there a way to fine tune the way the sound gate behaves? What I'd love is to have it always open (in order to hear continuously the conference users ambiance, and to prevent the crude opening of their sound gates, which can become annoying after some minutes). Is it possible? Or does this behavior belongs to other software layers (Red5, for ex)? regarding * green audio led.* I tested it with latest Source = it works for me. Re: Automatic sound muting - threshold is too low
the value *loudnessAcitviation* in config.xml ist just the min-value before the LED starts to blink. I'll update the Sources to set also the silentLevel to the Microphone with the value of the loudnessAcitviation. sebastian 2009/2/13 Sebastian Wagner seba.wag...@gmail.com regarding * green audio led.* I tested it with latest Source = it works for me. Re: Automatic sound muting - threshold is too low
Yeah, that's what I saw in the Flash documentation on Adobe's website. Precisely, there is a method that allows to set the silencing threshold and timeout: microphone.setSilenceLevel(silenceLevel:Number, [timeOut:Number]) I guess I could add the settings to the config.xml file and get them parsed and used in the App... or do some dirty hacking and hardcode the value need in the source.
