Ian, thanks for running these tests and for sharing the results!
It is really odd, I even rebooted my Laptop yesterday, and it still
doesn´t manage to load www.zoll.de .

Odd.
But at least we can now exclude (after yours tests), that this problem
affects all users of a certain build.
Because for that reason I had reported it in the first place.

2010-04-14 Thread ken mays
Hello,

Most of the official Firefox on Solaris update ports are done over at the
Mozilla FTP site by the Beijing team. You'll see Firefox 3.6.3 there as well as
the new dev release.

I used Seamonkey 2.0.4, Firefox 3.5.8, and Firefox 3.6.3 on the namecheap
website and it instantly loaded. Firefox 2.0.0.x had some script problems on a
few other sites like Gmail (unless you got into plain html mode).

You can use either SXCE snv_129 (tested) or snv_130. These are phased out and
not supported officially - as you know. Most users are told to know focus on
OSOL 2010.03-dev (>=b134) if possible.

We mostly discuss this over at desktop-discuss...

Re: [osol-discuss] Firefox 3.5.5 with SXCE can't load page

2010-04-14 Thread bsd
I'm not sure where the problem lies, but:

I am able to load www.namecheap.com with OpenSolaris 2009.06/b134, FreeBSD
7.2/8.0, OpenBSD 4.5/4.6/-current.

I am unable to load the page using OpenSolaris b129 or SXCE b130. Downloaded
Firefox 3.6 from sunfreeware.com/mozilla.html and installed it on SXCE b130 but
it still cannot load the page. Increasing timeout did not resolve the problem.

Hello. If not related to the snv level, then maybe it is related to
the NIC driver.
All systems are behind the same router and firewall and NAT. No other

On this Laptop however, it does not even help if I load WinXP in a vbox vm.

You do *not* have this bug.
This site www.namecheap.com does load on my problematic installation,
where www.zoll.de would *never* load.

2010-04-12 Thread Martin Bochnig
I can confirm, that there must be a bug in recent builds.
It is not DNS related and the client (in your case browser) does not matter.
Have the same timeouts with wget.

Try to load www.zoll.de !!

It works on all my Solaris SPARC boxes, but not at all on x86
OS2010.02_preview snv_131.

This is an existing issue.
Somebody with some time: Pls. investigate.

There is one problem though and that is I cannot load www.namecheap.com and it eventually times out. The problem is that I can get to other sites without any problems.

Can anyone suggest what may be the problem that Firefox 3.5.5 and/or SXCE b130 cannot load one site?
