[osol-discuss] New problem?
Ok, I get this strange output. Is it a problem, or can I safely ignore this? Look at the name of the disk c7d0, it has weird characters. Is it because I tried other SATA ports, and has it messed up the disk in someway? root@JamesBond:~# format Searching for disks... Re: [osol-discuss] New problem?
It's an issue in format. Don't relabel your disks and get an older version of format. Casper ___ opensolaris-discuss mailing list opensolaris-discuss@opensolaris.org
Re: [osol-discuss] New problem?
Hi Orvar, I think you are running b151a and this problem was fixed on b154: http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6969598 junk in format for cmdk disks I also see a similar problem reported if this disk had a GPT label. I don't know how to fix this, other than backing up your data, upgrading to b154 and relabeling these disks. This is the safest approach. I know this has been reported before but I don't remember an easier fix. Thanks, Cindy On 03/16/11 13:23, Orvar Korvar wrote: Ok, I get this strange output. Re: [osol-discuss] New problem?
So, this is only a problem with format command? It outputs some weird characters but my data is safe? I can safely ignore those weird characters? Everything is ok? My data is safe? (Cindy, I can not upgrade to b154 as I only have access to the official Solaris 11 Express b151a distro from Oracle.) -- This message posted from opensolaris.org ___ opensolaris-discuss mailing list opensolaris-discuss@opensolaris.org
