Though the ultimate goal is to do a lot more, the prototype for the Visual Panels project (screenshots, demo, and source at http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/vpanels/ ) currently contains a basic SMF GUI. So I propose this project Make GUI SMF program!! How about to extent gnome-system-tools system-tools-backends which been integrated into NexentaOS recently? AFAIK we're working on that right now as part of our gnome-system-tools port for Vermillion-- I believe we've made the g-s-t Services dialog use SMF. This isn't a replacement for the vpanels project, but something quick and simple that people can use now... well, Real Soon Now. The are already provide simplistic GUI[1] for SMF and other configuration management stuff like Wifi/LAN confiugration, NFS/Samba, etc with unified {front, back}ends. I know some folks porting GST STB to Solaris now. [1] http://www.gnusolaris.org/gswiki/ErastBenson/STB_screenshots -- Erast ___ opensolaris-discuss mailing list opensolaris-discuss@opensolaris.org
