Re: [osol-discuss] SXCE build 84 *only* seems to be out
Thanks, and the from changed subtly again. I guess I have to improve the logic yet again so one has to chose from the pop up. code updated in the meanwhile to account for the new form values. http://wit.ch/sxce-download.pl for anyone that feels strongly about using the cli to download. - mo On 10 Mar 2008, at 5:12 am, Derek Cicero wrote: Cyril Plisko wrote: On Sun, Mar 9, 2008 at 1:29 PM, Mario Goebbels <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Don't know about anyone else but that link does not work from here. Re: [osol-discuss] SXCE build 84 *only* seems to be out
Well, I can't find 84; I'll wait. But at least I figured out that my download script was far too simplistic with the form. Should work better now. but only downloading 83 following the sol_x_dvd link. If anyone downloaded the script and it was useless: try again. - mo On 9 Mar 2008, at 03:30, Ian Collins wrote: Dennis Clarke wrote: Don't know about anyone else but that link does not work from here. Remember that the new installer isn't finished yet, and some of this functionality will be added back eventually. I don't know if the ip address prompt will be added back because of nwam. I also don't know if the uid/gid is coming back. I do know that the disk layout (to a certain extent) will return. -- Shawn Walker, Software and Systems Analyst http://binarycrusader.blogspot.com/ "To err is human -- and to blame it on a computer is even more so." - Robert Orben ___ opensolaris-discuss mailing list opensolaris-discuss@opensolaris.org

The new installer, while simple, is a little too simple. I am installing a server and it never asks me for ip address nor can I specify the uid and gid of the first new user. I can not layout the disk as I see fit either. On my Sparc systems I am going for the text based installer from the console and I hope that it is still the same detailed installer that it always has been. The GRUB menu seems to offer a text based installer via the ttya port ( or ttyb ) and that may solve the problem on x86.
