Re: [osol-help] Problem running 2008.05 from USB flash drive (not LiveUSB!)
I have a similiar but not identical problem. Install to USB flash went without errors and I have verified as far as I´m able to that everything is ok on the installed file system (see bug 1632 that I filed on this). Grub loads and displays the splash screen and menu when booted off the flash drive, but as far as I can tell the kernel never loads after this, impossible to enter the debugger even if -kv is added to the kernel boot command. Sorry to say I have not been able to take this any further... This message posted from opensolaris.org ___ opensolaris-help mailing list opensolaris-help@opensolaris.org
[osol-help] SXDE 1/08 upgrade problems
I have been running SXDE 9/07 on a fileserver for a couple of months and today I tried to upgrade to SXDE 1/08. However, after keyboard configuration the graphical installer fails, claiming the X-display cannot be initialised, and suggest use of the text-installer. I could probably use this instead but my I´m hesitating as I had no problems using the graphical installer on SXDE 9/07 (mainboard with intel G33 chipset with integrated graphics) Anybody else who has experienced similar problems? Any risk that something else will break if I use the text installer to upgrade? /Per This message posted from opensolaris.org ___ opensolaris-help mailing list opensolaris-help@opensolaris.org
