Re: [osol-help] SXDE 1/08 upgrade problems

2008-03-06 Thread Per Lager
Made a funny observation the other day - If I plug in the local display after
Solaris has booted I get a login screen, but if the display is plugged in during
the boot-process I just get a black screen after the grub meny (repeatable
behaviour).
I use an old no-brand CRT and my guess is that the new xrandr 1.2 for dynamic
config of screens somehow get confused during change of resolution and refresh
rate at start-up. Anybody else with a similiar experience?

Re: [osol-help] SXDE 1/08 upgrade problems

2008-02-09 Thread Per Lager
I went ahead with the upgrade but used the live upgrade procedure instead. The
problem with the local display was however the same after upgrade as it was
in the installer. This is not a big issue for me as I mostly use VNC to login
and manage this box, but it seems that there is an issue with the driver for
the intel graphics that has been introduced in SXDE 1/08.

[osol-help] SXDE 1/08 upgrade problems

2008-02-06 Thread Per Lager
I have been running SXDE 9/07 on a fileserver for a couple of months and today
I tried to upgrade to SXDE 1/08. However, after keyboard configuration the
graphical installer fails, claiming the X-display cannot be initialised, and
suggest
use of the text-installer. I could probably use this instead but my I´m
hesitating as I had no problems using the graphical installer on SXDE 9/07
(mainboard with intel G33 chipset with integrated graphics)
Anybody else who has experienced similar problems? Any risk that something
else will break if I use the text installer to upgrade?
