So Monday is cross deployment projects collaboration meeting and
Wednesday is whatever TripleO / Kolla collab related things.
Does it make sense?

Re: [openstack-dev] [all][nova][neutron][qa][panko][blazar]: OpenStack meets ETSI NFV workshop on 12.09.2017

2017-09-09 Thread Csatari, Gergely (Nokia - HU/Budapest)
Hi,

I’ve added this topic after TST003. Is this okay for everyone?
I think you should refer to IFA011 [1] in the VNF package data structure and
additional data processing topic.

Hello!

I created an etherpad with the topics I want to discuss:
https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/ptg-glare-etsi

There I want to make a brief overview of glare features, that may be useful for
vnf packages support, and get a list of requirements from ETSI NFV delegates,
they want to see in the catalog of VNF packages.

Best regards,
Mikhail Fedosin

Yes, It will be even better! I can record a demo and publish it before the
meeting.

Could you schedule a short talk about IFA007 during the workshop?

Hi,

Thanks for the proposal. The aim of this workshop is to accelerate the
collaboration between OpenStack and ETSI and not to execute demonstrations.
However if you have technical questions to IFA about IFA007 then we can add
that as an agenda point.

Hello!

I would also like to discuss the possibility of using Glare for cataloging VNF
packages. Generally speaking Glare satisfies all the requirements from the
standard
http://www.etsi.org/deliver/etsi_gs/NFV-IFA/001_099/007/02.01.01_60/gs_NFV-IFA007v020101p.pdf
Could we include this topic in the discussions, too?

I plan to create an artifact type and present a short demo there, about how
glare can work with the packages. If this topic is interesting, then we can
discuss it in more detail on Wednesday or Thursday in dedicated Glare team room.

Best regards,
Mikhail Fedosin

Hi,

Thanks for the clarification.

Our understanding was that with Panko it is possible to subscribe to the state
of the different resource of the cloud as it is descibed in [1]. This is why we
mapped the Virtualised [Compute|Network|Storage] Resources Capacity Management
Interfaces to Panko.

i added a note in etherpad but it seems you want Ceilometer (+Gnocchi if you
need storagE) and not Panko. Panko only handles storage of events (more
metadata focused data) while Ceilometer handles the actual generation of both
events and metrics, the latter being the one you want it seems. Gnocchi is used
for optimised time-series metric storage.

unfortunately, i don't believe anyone from Telemetry teams are attending the
PTG but we can be reached on ML or #openstack-telemetry.

It looks like DevStack had two approaches to dealing with the Volume
v1 endpoint [0], [1] (did I miss any others?). What is the
recommended configuration in a no-v1 world for the 'volume' service
endpoint? Go ahead and set the endpoint without the 'v1' like we have
always wanted to do?

I'm finding I need to dynamically check for volume v1 now in the OSC
functional tests (we can't remove v1 support for a while yet) which
wants the new full version discovery which wants... it's 'wants' all
the way down. :)

I have removed the above releases from PyPI as requested. Releases
made through our CI builds can still be found on
https://tarballs.openstack.org/ if needed in the future, even if
deleted from PyPI.

[openstack-dev] Update on Zuul v3 Rollout plans for PTG week

2017-09-09 Thread Monty Taylor

Heya everybody!

You may or may not be aware that we've been targeting a go-live for Zuul
v3 for Monday of the PTG. After our status meeting on the topic this
afternoon we have decided to hold-off and do a bit more work on the
migration itself while we're in Denver together.

Zuul v3 itself is in great shape, but it turns out a community of
thousands of developers has produced a LOT of job content over the last
7 years, and we want to hammer on the translation and migration plans a
bit more before we unleash it on everyone. If all goes well we're still
hoping to leave Denver having migrated all the things.

We have a session planned Monday afternoon to go over v3 and what it
means at 2:00PM in Vail. That session is still on, however, for those of
you who either can't be there or prefer reading, we've also put a bunch
of migration information into the Infra Manual:

  https://docs.openstack.org/infra/manual/zuulv3.html

As we work over the first part of the week you may see Zuul running some
jobs on your patches and leaving results. If you do - don't freak out,
it's just us making sure things are working. We also may grab a few of
you to verify that migrated versions of your jobs are working properly.
Or you may not notice anything at all until the go-live happens.

See you in Denver!
Monty

he talking about?" - the following resources might be interesting:

[openstack-dev] [horizon] PTG Announcements

2017-09-09 Thread Rob Cresswell
Hey everyone,

I've made a Google Hangouts group for us to catch up at the PTG. Please ping me
on IRC (robcresswell) or email me if you'd like the link to join. It would be
great to meet you all in real life :)

Also there will be no IRC meeting next week (13th of September) and I expect
IRC to be quieter than usual due to PTG attendance.
