Of course I would have to wait till one of the 30 of 40 Dells I maintain for my company an my customers actually has a problem. which, to date (knock on wood) has not happened. 100% of the Sonys my company purchased had to go back within the first month, and it took weeks to get them to accept the fact that it was their MOBO that was the problem. The deal is that every manufacturer has problems from time to time, and every one of them is in court somewhere. -- _ John Andersen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: [opensuse] Help me to buy a new laptop
To me, there's only one player in teh laptop market...IBM Thinkpad's hands down. If not just for their linux compatibility, for their design and durability. Until any other laptop vendor out there has titanium hinges from teh base to the lcd, and can flatten out completely, I personally would look no other way. ESPECIALLY if you have kids whom may be around while it's on your lap. I've had my daughter come in front of me and pull down on my screen, and i had no concern whatsoever. If it was a dell, hp, mac, or any other vendor really for that matter, it would have snapped. Also, if your ever in your car or anything like that while ur lappy is on, I can sit a thinkpad on my steering wheel, and position my screen upright. Yet again, any other model's screen would most likely be positioned chest level. Like I said, it may just be personal preference, but just teh screen alone sells me on them. I've had a T40, and on a T42 now for a couple of years running Gentoo only. Never booted to anything but on either one actually. Been drooling over the Z61T for some time also. Of course like you mentioned, the X series are incredible as well, but i like the idea of the cd/dvd rom being in the chasis over the docking station. Something about a little 12inch screen with a weight of only 3lbs is quite appealing though! =D Good Luck with your hunt!
