On the first boot screen I entered F4, HTTP and "download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source" in the server field, which become automatic splitted in server and catalog field afterwards. Came to the simpe gui YaST installer (not YaST2) some later. The installation was broken after some time with the error message: "HTTP network error: 302 found". The same PC boots 10.1, Mandriva, Ubuntu and Win2k ok with Internet connection ok from other partition/file systems. Remarkable that Internet installation won't work neither now nor on previous attempts. Rgds, Terje J. [opensuse-factory] Factory Woes
Hi, Many of the mirrors do not carry the openSUSE factory. Those that do appear to have mirrored a problem. To wit: http://linux.nssl.noaa.gov/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source Can't provide /suse/setup/descr/packages.sk from http://linux.nssl.noaa.gov/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source Gwdg.de is so vastly overburdened as to be worthless. Re: [opensuse-factory] Has anybody "smart --gui" running recently?
Hi, > BTW, I've seen on bugzilla someone asking for an upgrade on PyGTK, so > maybe it could change the state of this issue. yes, I requested this because the PyGTK version which is currently there is known to be affected by PEP-353 which causes breakage with Python2.5 on 64bit platforms. http://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0353 This document contains also a script that can be used to check existing code for breakage. I'm almost certainly sure that it's this because smart --gui works perfectly on 32bit and not at all on 64bit. PyGTK 2.10.3 fixes it. Unfortunately, none of the main Smart developers are using Python 2.5, so we're relying on Christoph Tiel or Pascal Bleser to give us any feed back regarding this upgrade (to Py2.5). BTW, I've seen on bugzilla someone asking for an upgrade on PyGTK, so maybe it could change the state of this issue. -- % Mauricio Teixeira (netmask) % mteixeira{a}webset{d}net <> Maceio/AL/BR % http://mteixeira.webset.net <> http://pmping.sf.net - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

In general we want to collect these tasks at http://en.opensuse.org/Tasks But you are right, we all need to use this way more. Martin currently thinks about how to improve this and we will also ask all teams working here to use it at least to link somewhere where they maintain their open tasks. thanks adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nuernberg, Germany email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
