[opensuse-factory] Java YAST script failure
Somebody working on these scripts I manually remove java-1_4_2 a week or so ago. Now trying install different versions of JAVA until I hit a working JRE with Firefox (downgraded to 586 2.0x). Yast comes up with this problem of not being able to: Subprocess failed. [opensuse-factory] Checking dependencies using YAST
From time to time I use YAST to update (10.3 AMD 64). I also have the problem that the connection sometimes goes bad half way the update process. By then YAST has already installed/updated certain components (applied diff RPMs). My question is if it is possible for YAST to re-check every package and ensure that all the missing dependencies are installed and if not to reinstall the missing dependencies. Currently I have the feeling that certain dependencies are not present and the box locks up. If I would know which ones are missing I could do a forced reinstall... Hi all Limiting to 15 partitions reminds me of de old DOS days I can not format FAT with more than 32 GB, in those days (when they developed FAT) I suppose nobody dreamt of more than 10 GB. So they developed NTFS but they are incompatible. Same goes for a screen 640 x XX. Tramiel OS TOS on Atari and the old Sinclair computers were way ahead of MO-DOS with its intrinsic limitations... Only extreme good marketing brought INTEL and MS-DOS on top, else Motorola, Texas Instruments Atari and Sinclair would have won the battle. So no I do not belief that we have to develop a system with intrinsic limitations, but then the future might prove me wrong. [opensuse-factory] B2 - factory
Hi all I am regularly upgrading from ftp://ftp-1.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/suse/ . Does it mean that I move to B2 or does it just stay at B1 level with (some) improvements. If I move to B2 through ftp-1 then I do not need to use either delta iso or start from scratch (download B2.. etc) am I correct? [opensuse-factory] sax make my screen go wild
Hi all If I touch Sax in any way my screen goes wild, mostly into single colour with some thin stripes top bottom and left right (one or two pixels wide). I know the mouse is reacting cause the thin stripes move change and colour. Re starting the system does not help, then it starts with the wild screen as soon as login screen pops up. The only option I have is to start with an iso disk and reinstall sax. If I want to switch from one user to an other the same thing happens. In that case the only thing I have to do is pull the plug and start p again. So in order to switch users I poweroff the laptop and start again choosing the desired user for log in. I am running on a pavilion 5000 with amd turion 64 and ATI board Radeon xpress 200M 5955 3d is not enabled I did not install ATI software. According to ATI I have to reinstall the software every time that the kernel updates..that is to much work for the time being. besides I do not need 3D yet. Linux 2.6.18.1-13-default x86_64 openSUSE 10.2 (X86-64) Beta1plus I understand that quiet a lot of those boards are in use nowadays, It might be worth having a look into it.
