[opensuse-factory] Java YAST script failure
Somebody working on these scripts I manually remove java-1_4_2 a week or so ago. Now trying install different versions of JAVA until I hit a working JRE with Firefox (downgraded to 586 2.0x). Yast comes up with this problem of not being able to: Subprocess failed. Error: RPM failed: rm: cannot remove `/usr/lib/browser-plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so': No such file or directory error: %preun(java-1_4_2-sun-plugin-1.4.2_update12-17.i586) scriptlet failed, exit status 1 --- 2007-12-19 08:29:00 koffice2-1.9.95.1-11.9.x86_64.rpm installed ok 2007-12-19 08:30:06 kdepim4-3.97.1-2.5.x86_64.rpm installed ok 2007-12-19 08:30:11 kdeutils4-3.97.1-1.6.x86_64.rpm installed ok 2007-12-19 08:32:01 koffice2-kexi-1.9.95.1-11.9.x86_64.rpm installed ok 2007-12-19 08:32:16 libkdepim4-3.97.1-2.5.x86_64.rpm installed ok 2007-12-19 08:39:57 java-1_6_0-sun-plugin-1.6.0.u3-0.5.i586.rpm install failed rpm output: rm: cannot remove `/usr/lib/browser-plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so': No such file or directory error: %preun(java-1_4_2-sun-plugin-1.4.2_update12-17.i586) scriptlet failed, exit status 1 Just not running at the edge of the blade but very close to: 10.3 box 64AMD Hugo -- Hugo Oosterkamp Land & Water Development Wat San Coordinator Moçambique Intermon Oxfam email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 00 258 82 622 8796 - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[opensuse-factory] Checking dependencies using YAST
>From time to time I use YAST to update (10.3 AMD 64). I also have the problem that the connection sometimes goes bad half way the update process. By then YAST has already installed/updated certain components (applied diff RPMs). My question is if it is possible for YAST to re-check every package and ensure that all the missing dependencies are installed and if not to reinstall the missing dependencies. Currently I have the feeling that certain dependencies are not present and the box locks up. If I would know which ones are missing I could do a forced reinstall... This issues was discussed a while back and can not find it in the bugslist Hugo -- Hugo Oosterkamp Land & Water Development Wat San Coordinator Moçambique Intermon Oxfam email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 00 258 82 622 8796 - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Certainly, not scssi. > Hi all Limiting to 15 partitions reminds me of de old DOS days I can not format FAT with more than 32 GB, in those days (when they developed FAT) I suppose nobody dreamt of more than 10 GB. So they developed NTFS but they are incompatible. Same goes for a screen 640 x XX. Tramiel OS TOS on Atari and the old Sinclair computers were way ahead of MO-DOS with its intrinsic limitations... Only extreme good marketing brought INTEL and MS-DOS on top, else Motorola, Texas Instruments Atari and Sinclair would have won the battle. So no I do not belief that we have to develop a system with intrinsic limitations, but then the future might prove me wrong. Re: [opensuse-factory] bcm43xxx on Asus A2D Laptop HP pavilion
Hi all HP pavilion dv5000 (86_64) and wireless works, thanks. Sid, does your friend happen to have a HP pavilion dv5000 with a ATI Xpress200 board. I want to compare notes on my screen issue. Witch goes blank and crazy whenever I want to switch users and when I log off. [opensuse-factory] B2 - factory
Hi all I am regularly upgrading from ftp://ftp-1.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/suse/ . Does it mean that I move to B2 or does it just stay at B1 level with (some) improvements. If I move to B2 through ftp-1 then I do not need to use either delta iso or start from scratch (download B2.. etc) am I correct? [opensuse-factory] sax make my screen go wild
Hi all If I touch Sax in any way my screen goes wild, mostly into single colour with some thin stripes top bottom and left right (one or two pixels wide). I know the mouse is reacting cause the thin stripes move change and colour. Re starting the system does not help, then it starts with the wild screen as soon as login screen pops up. The only option I have is to start with an iso disk and reinstall sax. If I want to switch from one user to an other the same thing happens. In that case the only thing I have to do is pull the plug and start p again. So in order to switch users I poweroff the laptop and start again choosing the desired user for log in. I am running on a pavilion 5000 with amd turion 64 and ATI board Radeon xpress 200M 5955 3d is not enabled I did not install ATI software. According to ATI I have to reinstall the software every time that the kernel updates..that is to much work for the time being. besides I do not need 3D yet. Linux 2.6.18.1-13-default x86_64 openSUSE 10.2 (X86-64) Beta1plus I understand that quiet a lot of those boards are in use nowadays, It might be worth having a look into it. Worth filing a bug report?? regards Hugo - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[opensuse-factory] Sax YAST
Hi All,Alpha 5 installs OK as long as I dont mess around with the proposed solution regarding the X config. As soon as I even think of touching SAX to configure my screen the screen goes wild. I can not test it since CT+ALT+BSpace leads me to nowhere. Next time i start the system it returns to a wild screen.Only option is to go out the hard way by cutting the power. How do I set up GRUB in order to obtain a level 3 (without X) startup option so that I can reach YAST and SAX--- If, while downloading iso a5, there are so many leachers why does Ktorrent closes its opperation fter my download is complete.??? I was away and my ktorrent should have provided more people with open source software... Where is the switch to make ktorrent behave more in a socialist way since it is not costing me a penny extraHugo
