Hi Casper,

I'm not sure i really understand where your Problem ist is right Now.

You want to Start the client with autostart of rdp to the 2008 terminalserver.
You also want on taskbar and so on.

Have a Look at the documention for Kiosk Mode. This will help you i think. For
Resolution of the Monitor i'm using the Monitor Device with the right
Resolution Set like you did. No Option is needed in the rdp application. The
client and terminalserver will Set the Resolution to the Monitor setting.

Best regards
Julian

Hi Chris I have a similar issue... I haven't updated my case with my latest findings but for now i have come to the conclution that perhap its my graphics drivers or lack of the right one that force my T5540 HP thin client to run in 1024*768...I just realized this like two min ago.. if you go to device and right click and choose new you can in type choose GFXcard ... which in the next menu will give you some choices in this regard.. my first test run here didn't go that well :) but i think you may have the same problem here..also read this.. its a good read!http://wiki.openthinclient.org/wiki/Monitor_configuration/enand it also touches the creation of gfxdrivers a littlebitGLFra: "chris winkel" Til: openthinclient-user@lists.sourceforge.netSendt: torsdag, 10. april 2014 11:17:41Emne: [openthinclient-user] request for more display drivers

Please try to use Consus.
Consus supports dual-screen.

To add a driver:
- setup a build environment
- compile it in the kernel
- if needed, some libraries have also to be updated

Re: [openthinclient-user] request for more display drivers

2014-04-10 Thread chris winkel
Hi alexander,

Found this on the internet

But I am new to linux and I don’t know how add it to the openthinclient

· Using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. 64bit. Get the driver files from here:
https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/sis

The xorg drivers you can install in ubuntu software center won’t give you
anything higher than 1024×768 as it fails to recognize the SIS671 chipset and
falls back to the stock framebuffer.
Put the two binary files in the tarball from the site above, sis671_drv.so and
sis671_drv.la where the page above describes. Be sure to get the correct
package for 32bit vs 64bit to match the version of ubunty you are running.
Thus, I used the files in sis-64-bit-1204.tar.gz

Don’t use the xorg.conf contained in the tarball, or if you do, it may not
work. It didn’t for me, and just hung. If it does don’t forget you can open a
console with Ctrl+Alt+F1 and login and copy / remove the xorg.conf and get back
to where you were before.

Once you get back into the gui, go to the display settings and you should see
you can change the resolution up to 1920×1080.

Here is my working xorg.conf that works and has a proper modeline for 1920×1080.

Section “Device”
Identifier “Configured Video Device”
Driver “sis671″
EndSection

Section “Monitor”
Identifier “Configured Monitor”
Modeline “1920x1080_60.00″ 173.00 1920 2048 2248 2576 1080 1083 1088 1120
-hsync +vsync
EndSection

Section “Screen”
Identifier “Default Screen”
Monitor “Configured Monitor”
Device “Configured Video Device”
DefaultDepth 24
EndSection

Re: [openthinclient-user] request for more display drivers

2014-04-10 Thread chris winkel
Hi alexander,

I am unable to pxe boot with corsus,
I have put in the mac address of the thinclient , pxe boot not working.

In mandriva it works if I only add the thinclient with it’s mac address

Hi alexander,

Found this on the internet

But I am new to linux and I don’t know how add it to the openthinclient

• Using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

Be sure to
get the correct package for 32bit vs 64bit to match the version of ubunty you

Don’t use the xorg.conf contained in the tarball, or if you do, it may not
work. It didn’t for me, and just hung. If it does don’t forget you can open a
console with Ctrl+Alt+F1 and login and copy / remove the xorg.conf and get back
to where you were before.

Once you get back into the gui, go to the display settings and you should see
you can change the resolution up to 1920×1080.

Here is my working xorg.conf that works and has a proper modeline for 1920×1080.

Section “Device”
Identifier “Configured Video Device”
Driver “sis671″
EndSection

Section “Monitor”
Identifier “Configured Monitor”
Modeline “1920x1080_60.00″ 173.00 1920 2048 2248 2576 1080 1083 1088 1120
-hsync +vsync
EndSection

Section “Screen”
Identifier “Default Screen”
Monitor “Configured Monitor”
Device “Configured Video Device”
DefaultDepth 24
EndSection

Consus supports dual-screen.
To add a driver:
- setup a build environment
- compile it in the kernel
- if needed, some libraries have also to be updated

Hi all,Ok so i was suggested by Alexander to use Consus since that was supported.. so im thinking more of you out there would use it and can help perhaps even Alexander himself!! :)I fear using consus for my T5540 that i have allready run into a show stopperso i did what I do in the old system.. PXE boot a thin client to make it show in the manager and than edit it and put it in thin clients folder.. I only gave it Device: keyboard DKDevice: Monitor 1440*900no application...when it starts to boot it do load the image from PXE but throws the error:ip: SIOCGIFFLAGS: no such deviceudhcpc: SIOCGIFFLAGS was calledNo /bin/bash found - dropping "busybox sh".sh: can't access tty; job control turned offand than some more stuff i don't think is needed?anyone has any suggestions? Have you guys changed the way PXE/DHCP should be setup with consus? in my enviroment i have a DHCP on another server... and it worked fine with Minerva...its setup up with option 66 pointing to the ip of the server running my manager... Or maybe Consus doesn't have network drivers for my T5540 HP device?I couldn't find and doku besides the one i used for my Minerva install so I assume it should be the same?--

Hi alexander,

Found this on the internet

But I am new to linux and I don’t know how add it to the openthinclient

• Using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

Be sure to
get the correct package for 32bit vs 64bit to match the version of ubunty you
are running. Thus, I used the files in sis-64-bit-1204.tar.gz

Don’t use the xorg.conf contained in the tarball, or if you do, it may not
work. It didn’t for me, and just hung. If it does don’t forget you can open a
console with Ctrl+Alt+F1 and login and copy / remove the xorg.conf and get back
to where you were before.

Once you get back into the gui, go to the display settings and you should see
you can change the resolution up to 1920×1080.

Here is my working xorg.conf that works and has a proper modeline for 1920×1080.

Section “Device”
Identifier “Configured Video Device”
Driver “sis671″
EndSection

Section “Monitor”
Identifier “Configured Monitor”
Modeline “1920x1080_60.00″ 173.00 1920 2048 2248 2576 1080 1083 1088 1120
-hsync +vsync
EndSection

Section “Screen”
Identifier “Default Screen”
Monitor “Configured Monitor”
Device “Configured Video Device”
DefaultDepth 24
EndSection

Please try to use Consus.
Consus supports dual-screen.
To add a driver:
- setup a build environment
- compile it in the kernel
- if needed, some libraries have also to be updated

2014-04-10 Thread Stecher, Alexander
Realm -> openthinclient -> rightclick edit
Change the PXE-Service from "Auto" to "SingleHomedBroadcasePXEService"

Then restart the openthinclient-service.

Do not add the client manual with its MAC.
Please try first, if it will be found automaticly in "PXE-Clients".
Then doubleclick on it and register the client.

Hmm ich habe alle "Versionen" getestet und es funktioniert wunderbar ohne
irgendeine DHCP Optionen. Der OTCS Server bezieht einfach auch seine
Adresse über DHCP.

Aktuell Win2008R2 als DHCP Server. Es funktioniert aber auch unter WIn2003
und einer simplen Fritzbox .

[openthinclient-user] Presentation / Location Languages / Autologon / Packages / DualScreen

2014-04-10 Thread Antonio Pérez Ruth
Hello, my name is Antonio Perez Ruth, I am Spanish (so sorry for my english in
advance).

I discovered your fantastic project recently and I am implementing for replace
an enviroment formed by 90 stations ThinStation and 7 locations.

I have been testing Minerva, Ceres and Consus and I have decided to implement
Consus because of hardware compatibility

Now the questions:

1. Is there anyway to define new language (Spanish in my case) to use it in
locations definition? Now, I can only select German and English variations. I
would like my users will see Spanish OTC-Login, OTC-Desktop and OTC-Menus

2. Is there anyway to disable Autologon for new devices in Consus? I have
tested in Minerva and Ceres connected to Secondary LDAP (my Active Directory
Domain) and runs perfectly.

3. I have downloaded tcos-dev, I have created Firefox package and I have
deployed correctly to the server. Where can I disable "default explorer
message" pop-up?

4. We have Clientron U720 with "Via VX855/VX875 Chrome 9 Integrated Graphics".
They have one VGA and DVI ports. I have test all posible combinations in dual
display device (DVI, DVI1, VGA0, VGA1, etc). In all of them, VGA is showed
correctly, but DVI is desktop cloned VGA, not extended desktop. Furthermore it
seems to have some refresh rate problem. Any help?

Thanks in advance.

Ok so based on what you said about adding drivers to tje build not being for

Re: [openthinclient-user] SIOCGIFFLAGS: no such device

2014-04-10 Thread chris winkel
All,

I have changed the options alaxander said,

Realm -> openthinclient -> rightclick edit
Change the PXE-Service from "Auto" to "SingleHomedBroadcasePXEService"
Removed the thinclient from the thinclients menu,

And reboot the thinclient it self,
During pxe boot it will showup in PXE clients,
but the thinclient will not boot with PXE

But with corsus and option 66 set in dhcp no PXE boot file found

Subject: [openthinclient-user] ip: SIOCGIFFLAGS: no such device

Hi all,

Ok so i was suggested by Alexander to use Consus since that was supported.. so
im thinking more of you out there would use it and can help perhaps even
Alexander himself!! :)

I fear using consus for my T5540 that i have allready run into a show stopper

so i did what I do in the old system.. PXE boot a thin client to make it show
in the manager and than edit it and put it in thin clients folder..

I only gave it

Device: keyboard DK
Device: Monitor 1440*900

no application...

when it starts to boot it do load the image from PXE but throws the error:

ip: SIOCGIFFLAGS: no such device
udhcpc: SIOCGIFFLAGS was called
No /bin/bash found - dropping "busybox sh".
sh: can't access tty; job control turned off

and than some more stuff i don't think is needed?

anyone has any suggestions? Have you guys changed the way PXE/DHCP should be
setup with consus? in my enviroment i have a DHCP on another server... and it
worked fine with Minerva...its setup up with option 66 pointing to the ip of
the server running my manager...

Or maybe Consus doesn't have network drivers for my T5540 HP device?

I couldn't find and doku besides the one i used for my Minerva install so I
assume it should be the same?
