Now I understand why you didn't have the time. 13 hours! Unfortunately, I'm not sure this is especially helpful. I'm suspicious of the code for the pci core on the 500gp. The same minipci card works w/ the b43 driver in my pc, b43 crashes on the 500gp. I'm not sure I believe the traceback. Plus gcc's inlining all subroutines only called once makes things really obscure. I'll keep looking. Instead of the two lines mentioning old symbols, there should be a line with something like : "$(eval $(call nf_add,IPT_EXTRA,CONFIG_NETFILTER_MATCH_OWNER,$(P_XT)xt_owner))" (... well, without wrapping...) Give it a try. > I suspect something in include/netfilter.mk is busted but not sure > what. I think there are several other changes like this one introduced by the 2.6.25 kernel. Another one is about tos/TOS and dscp/DSCP modules : https://dev.openwrt.org/cgi-bin/trac.fcgi/ticket/3527 But this one requires quite some work to update iptables. (I have quickly looked at it, but iptables Makefile structure seems to have changed between 1.4.0 and 1.4.1.1 so that applying patches is not so easy) Regards, fred ___ openwrt-devel mailing list openwrt-devel@lists.openwrt.org http://lists.openwrt.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/openwrt-devel

[OpenWrt-Devel] iptables "owner" match not being packaged
I'm using Kamikaze r11527 and something I have noticed is that the iptables "owner" match seems to be getting built but not packaged either in the kmod-ipt-extra or iptables-mod-extra packages. I've been scouring the package/iptables/Makefile and include/netfilter.mk files, but I've not been able to make sense of it all. I do have CONFIG_NETFILTER_XT_MATCH_OWNER=m set in my kernel .config and lots of mention of *_owner in my make output: mipsel-linux-uclibc-gcc -Os -pipe -mips32 -mtune=mips32 -funit-at-a-time -fhonour-copts -Wall -Wunused -I/usr/src/openwrt/build_dir/linux-brcm47xx/linux-2.6.25.7/include -I/usr/src/openwrt/build_dir/linux-brcm47xx/linux-2.6.25.7/include -Iinclude/ -DIPTABLES_VERSION=\"1.4.0\" -fPIC -o extensions/libipt_owner_sh.o -c extensions/libipt_owner.c mipsel-linux-uclibc-gcc -shared -o extensions/libipt_owner.so extensions/libipt_owner_sh.o ... cp extensions/libipt_owner.so /usr/src/openwrt/build_dir/linux-brcm47xx/iptables-1.4.0/ipkg-install/usr/lib/iptables/libipt_owner.so ... rstrip.sh: /usr/src/openwrt/build_dir/linux-brcm47xx/iptables-1.4.0/ipkg/ip6tables/usr/lib/iptables/libip6t_owner.so:shared object ... But nothing ends up in a package. I suspect something in include/netfilter.mk is busted but not sure what. To summarise the reports at #3510 and here, b43 seems to work on r10154, but not on r11363, r11372 or r11579. Unfortunately, I don't have a huge amount of time right now (not enough to do a full bisect between 10154 and 11363). A side note is that r11510 on my WRTSL54GS does not bus error, but equally does not scan the radio correctly. The crucial revisions to investigate around are r11358 r10742 r10755 r10951 r11462 r11347. If anyone can do some narrowing down, it would really help. Also, if you are going to help track this down, compiling the kernel with CONFIG_KALLSYMS will help, as we'll get Oops logs that contain more information about where the failure is happening.
