[opnfv-tech-discuss] [Auto] huawei-pod12 ONAP status

2018-10-22 Thread Klozik Martin
Hi Harry,

after the power down of huawei-pod12 we are facing an issue with the ONAP
installation. The Onap VMs are seen as running by OpenStack, but all of them
have failed to boot the kernel and are hanging in the initramfs.

Paul did some investigation and he has found out, that it is possible to boot
vm manually, it means, that kernel will boot properly. He did some quick checks
and it is not clear to us, why VMs can't be boot properly by the OpenStack.

Have you seen similar issue in the past, e.g. at any other huawei server after
the recent power down? We have a suspicion, that some OS configuration
performed during installation was not hardened in the configuration files and
thus it was lost after the pod was powered down.

We will be grateful for any hints, so we can bring the ONAP installation up and
running again.

I'm also wondering if you have any notes about the OS and ONAP installation. We
can access the bash history, but it is not clear if all performed activities
are really necessary. It would be great if you will document the steps required
to have OS deployed. I suppose, that for documentation of ONAP installation, we
have to ask Gary, am I right?

Thank you,
Martin

[opnfv-tech-discuss] #test-wg Updates for TestWG

2018-10-22 Thread Mark Beierl
Hello, all.

I have set up a place for anyone who would like to sign up to chair an upcoming
meeting here [1]. I would also like to take Bin’s lead and start sending out
requests for agenda items. Right now the only item for this week is to
continue the discussion about the upcoming OPNFV Test Tool presentation for OSS
Europe.

If anyone has any items they would like to add to the agenda, please let me
know.

Re: [opnfv-tech-discuss] stepping down as PTL of Dovetail

2018-10-22 Thread Georg Kunz
Hi all,

I'd like to announce that the Dovetail PTL election has concluded and that
Xudan has been elected PTL of Dovetail [1]. Congratulations, Xudan!

I have merged the patch [1] and informed the TSC and the OPNFV helpdesk
accordingly.

Hi Dovetailers,

a little later than originally announced, I'd like to start the voting phase
for the new Dovetail PTL.

We received one self-nomination from Xudan [1]. Given that there is only one
candidate, I think we can skip a condorcet vote and instead vote directly on a
patchset I have created which updates the PTL [2]. So, all Dovetail committers,
please review [2] and cast your vote (-1, +1). The voting period ends in one
week from now on October 24. The election passes if in one week from now, there
is a majority of +1s from Dovetail committers.

Subject: [opnfv-tech-discuss] stepping down as PTL of Dovetail

Dear Dovetailers,
Dear community,

I'd like to announce that I am stepping down as PTL of Dovetail. With the
release of OVP 2018.09 two weeks ago at ONS, a second release cycle of Dovetail
came to a conclusion and I'd like to give others the opportunity to drive
Dovetail through the next cycle. I strongly believe that ensuring diversity in
project leadership is important in order to maintain a healthy community and to
allow others to drive the project further with fresh ideas.

In general, I'd like to follow the PTL election process outlined in the
Yardstick wiki [1]. Specifically, I'd like to open a (self-)nomination period
of one week, starting today, which is open for all Dovetail committers [2].
Afterwards, there will be a voting phase of one week.

I will remain on the project as before, just not in the driver's seat.

Re: [opnfv-tech-discuss] [releng] Adding 'opnfv-build-ubuntu' label to lf-build2

2018-10-22 Thread Aaron Smith
Hi Trevor,
Has the ericcson-build4 server configuration changed recently? It appears
that dpdk is no longer available for builds.
Barometer builds have been failing the last few days with errors suggesting
that DPDK is no longer installed.

Any ideas?

Fu Qiao,

my understanding is we'll end up having 3 Plugfests in 2019, since the
one in January is just a spillover from 2018 (it "belongs" to the Gambia
release). At least we have assumed two Plugfests in 2019 LFN budget
planning.
