Hi all,

I won’t be able to join today’s meeting, but I’d like to nevertheless raise a 
question for today’s discussion: Considering that [future] HA test cases are 
[suppose to become] part of the Dovetail/CVP test suite, they need to be rather 
“backend implementation neutral”. What I mean is that the OpenStack control 
processes which are being killed by the tests can for instance run natively or 
containerized etc. and the HA test cases need to match that.

I realize that there is the concept of different “attacker types” in Yardstick 
which may be used to address this. However, I am wondering – from a CVP 
perspective – if this requires to bring potentially different test case 
implementations and/or configurations into the Dovetail test suite.

I went through the etherpad page of HA test case Fraser Planning,  It looks 
good.  Yardstick Fraser planning[3] is also on going. We already plan to sync 
the requirement from HA Team.  I would like to join the next HA meeting to 
discuss more detail about further HA test cases.

What I did is to following the action point of Test WG weekly meeting[1], I 
briefly summarized the existing HA test cases in Yardstick repo and make a 
slide[2] to  introduce HA testing to Openstack QA team, because they also would 
like to do some “ destructive testing” in Openstack community.  I guess Georg 
is the key person to connected with Openstack QA team.

I would like to invite my colleague Fan Yamei to introduce the current high
availability test cases in our specification, which we also plan to develop
automation solutions and contribute to the community.

Would Kanglin and Qiujuan also give an brief introduction about your plan of
the HA testcases for F release?

We would also like to coordinate with the Dovetail team to see if the plan
can fit into the dovetail testing plan.
