2016-03-10 Thread Patsy Wang-Iverson
Hi,

AMS is working on an e-version of Origami^6, which should be available
in a few weeks, but possibly as early as next week.

Pricing will be the same as for the print copies.

In the meantime, please enjoy the preview materials available at:

[Origami] OrigamiConnect March 2016 online class

2016-03-10 Thread Mary Williams Drews

OrigamiUSA is proud to announce the next event in the new series of live
online classes that you can take over the web: Origami Connect!

  https://origamiusa.org/connect

Circular Origami Corrugation whose pattern is inspired by the Fibonacci
Skirt for VOGEL.

Date and Time: Sunday, March 20, 2016 - 11:00am to 1:00pm EST

Level: Low Intermediate

Presenter: Uyen Nguyen and Lea Freni

Join Uyen Nguyen and Lea Freni for a conversation about their collaboration
on origami fashion. Special for this Origami Connect Event, Nguyen will
teach a circular origami corrugation whose pattern is inspired by the
Fibonacci Skirt for VOGEL.

Participants need:
One square of 6" (15 cm) square sheet of paper and a pair of scissors.

Uyen Nguyen has been collaborating with Lea Freni for the 2016 Spring/Summer
collection of VOGEL, an emerging contemporary womenswear brand that recently
debuted at Vancouver Fashion Week. The collection is embedded with the
latest research in origami mechanics, based on Nguyen's own designs and
research at Cornell University's Laboratory of Atomic and Solid State
Physics. Uyen is a board member of OrigamiUSA.

The Origami Connect web page lists real-time, interactive, online origami
events though Spring 2016. You can get information on the 4 scheduled
events, each only $5, and each can be viewed by as many people as can fit in
front of your computer (which is all you will need). For those who can't
make it to the live interactive session, or wish to review the presentation,
a link to the recording will provided.

We hope you will join us!

Please visit
https://origamiusa.org/connect for details, a time zone converter, and
registration information.

Best Regards,

Re: [Origami] Origami6 on Kindle (was: Langorigami.com 4.0)

2016-03-10 Thread Patsy Wang-Iverson
Hi,

Re < Origami^6 on Kindle

Origami^6 came out in December 2015 and is available at a discount at ams.org

I was told last year that an e-version will be made available, but at a later
date than the hard copy. Just sent off a note asking for release date and
pricing. Will post the information as soon as I hear back.

Best regards,

Patsy

Don't know; that's a question for the publisher. (Although, if she's
reading, Patsy might have some insights.)

4 and 5 were published by A K Peters (now part of CRC Press); 6 was
published by the American Mathematical Society. Looks like they have their
own eReader:
