[Origami] Database

2017-11-12 Thread Dennis Walker
Hi all,

The Origami Database is now back (with protected passwords).
www.oriwiki.com

You will have to request a new password to continue, I'm afraid, but it is a
simple process.

But once logged in, you can continue to

add books, (one at a time, or even batch update)

add models to a book,

add photos (by drag and drop),

add reviews and ratings,

indicate which books you own and

if you are a creator, please let the moderators know.

As a creator you can set preferred photos and, more importantly, set
copyright details en-masse or on a model by model basis.

Re: [Origami] Size of folds for earrings?

It all depends on who is wearing them and what sort of earrings they like. If
they like big statement earrings, then anything up to 5-6cm long and wide (for
the origami part, not including the drop) is acceptable. (But the origami needs
to be quite flat, otherwise it'd be too chunky).

If the person prefers dainty, then 0.7cm would probably be the minimum. Any
smaller and it'd be too small.

If you are not sure, anything between 1-1.5cm would be ok for most people.

Just go to a jewellery store and check out their range of drop earrings and
you'll get a guide.

(Unless you are making stud earrings, in which case, I'd recommend no more than
1.5cm wide and 1.5cm long maximum.)

I just today realised it is now available electronically from
http://bookstore.ams.org/mbk-95-1 at $ 79
for each of part I and II,
as a personalised pdf - and hence also readable on Kindle or most other
electronic readers.

So now I can read it, too :-)
(Without cluttering our home with even more book shelves; hope the next set
will be available sooner).

Hans
