[Origami] Christmas Tree by Carlos Bocanegra
There is a beautiful Christmas Tree by Carlos Bocanegra (https://www.flickr.com/photos/hillihilde/22450873524/), constructed from modules from fish bases. Are there any hints/instructions on how to make modify the fish bases to obtain the modules, and how to link them together? http://partagedenat.eklablog.fr/arbolitomania-a113891256 is (I think) a tipsy variant. Re: [Origami] sharing my car diagrams
Hi Hadi, I've had a couple of attempts from the diagrams, and not yet been successful. I think I should have started with a rather larger piece of paper! I tried with a 15 cm square. I also have a question about step 5 of the diagrams. Counting interior horizontal lines from the top, I think the second line is the original upper edge of the square. Immediately below is a zig-zag (pre-creased in step 2) of a mountain fold followed by a valley fold. My attempts to continue with the diagrams (I reached as far as about step 18), lead me to believe that the zig-zag in step 5 should have the valley fold first, and then the mountain fold (the opposite sequence to diagram step 5). Maybe if I can find your video, I'll be able to resolve my doubts. I'm sure a very nice vehicle will be produced if I can reach the end! Thank you for making the diagrams (many hours of work, from my experience!), and making them available. I have come into possession of sets of 30 A8 paper. Can anyone direct me to modulars using small A sized paper? All I can think of is “Trapped” by Alessandro Bieber which takes 16. There is a rhombic unit from A proportioned paper, which requires relatively few folds. Re: [Origami] The Origami Piano model

I learnt both these models as a child from "Folding Paper Toys" by Shari Lewis and Lillian Oppenheimer. I think there is also a couch in this book, and perhaps more? Richard (Piracicaba, SP, Brazil)

Re: [Origami] Looking for red kraft paper [FWD for Yahoo user]
I'm looking for red (not a dark burgundy, but a nice true red) kraft paper that shows the natural brown color on one side. This was recently posted by Dave Venables to the BOS mailing list: If you have an IKEA store near you it's worth popping in and getting some paper from their Christmas selection. This one is a particularly good strong and crisp paper http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50303226/ and at £3:00 for a 8 metre roll**a bargain I would say. It is essentially old fashioned brown wrapping or craft paper printed red on one side. It is used by Sarah Adams in her video of the**Hydrangea Ribbon Box by Dáša Ševerová and Shuzo Fujimoto**http://www.happyfolding.com/instructions-severova_fujimoto-hydrangea_ribbon_box. I don't know if IKEA exists in the USA. Richard (Piracicaba, SP, Brazil)

More details (including a list of models) are available at: http://supplies.britishorigami.info/index.php?main_page=product_infocPath=2_3products_id=45 The models in More Origami Hearts are, I believe, those to be found in the book Origami Hearts published by Japan Publications. Mr Ow produced an earlier booklet entitled Origami Hearts, I don't believe the hearts of this earlier booklet have been (re)published commercially. Re: [Origami] A strip of paper
What is the best way to cut a long strip of paper from a sheet of paper? I find it difficult to keep the long edges parallel. As I recall Beth Johnson's snake (http://www.origamispirit.com/2012/09/a-temptation-to-fold-paper/) needs a strip of 1 inch x 45 inches! Richard. Piracicaba, SP, Brazil.

[Origami] Anita Barbour - spiraclemusic.com
I was just looking for origami models for Halloween, and found various pointers to models by Anita Barbour. I went to the indicated web address: http://www.spiraclemusic.com/webwalk/origami.htm but it seems that the domain www.spiraclemusic.com has lapsed. Fragments of some of diagrams can be accessed via the webarchive, but many pages of the (gif) diagrams are missing from the archive. Does anyone know if spiraclemusic will be renewed as the domain for Anita Barbour's origami, or if the origami content of the domain has been/will be migrated to another location on the internet? Thank you, Richard, Piracicaba, SP, Brazil.
