Re: Oracle deal

Re: 1.5.1 vs 1.4.7 RequestDispatcher
I had a problem with request.sendRedirect where orion would continue processing the jsp or servlet below the sendRedirect. It's like it ignored the redirect intirely. I had to put a return; statement imediately following the sendRedirect statement. Maybe this is related. --- Kit Cragin [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Is there something that changed between 1.5.1 and 1.4.7 that broke my forward() requests? I have a servlet mapped to /start and protected by a role, user, in web.xml. The servlet obtains a RequestDispatcher to /roles/user/index.jsp. This JSP has an iframe that loads /roles/user/content.html. Under 1.4.7 when I do http://localhost/webapp/start I got a login prompt as expected and everything shows up correctly. Under 1.5.1, the same URL causes 3 login prompts. On the last one, I get a 401 unauthorized on content.html. Anyone know why this could be occuring? Re: Counter gives naming exception
if you are using NetBeans it comes with a JNDI explorer on the runtime tab of the explorer. --- Koster, K.J. I should have stayed in school and learned something, but nooo, I had to do Computer Science. *argh!* :-) I deployed the counter.jar (yes it's in the ear, it even autocreates the table it needs, but never uses). I have included the relevant bits into web.xml (from $ORION/applications/myapp/webthingy/WEB-INF/web.xml): ejb-ref ejb-ref-nameejb/Counter/ejb-ref-name ejb-ref-typeEntity/ejb-ref-type homecom.evermind.ejb.CounterHome/home remotecom.evermind.ejb.Counter/remote /ejb-ref Yet when I use that thing inside the ejbCreate of another bean I get a NameNotFound Exception. Replacing the Counterutils.getnextid() with (new Date()).getTime() works without generating the errors. How can I view the contents of the JNDI directory that Orion has? It would be sooo helpful in debugging. What is so obvious that I missed it? Kees Jan You are only young once, but you can stay immature all your life. __ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Re: I require step by step install instructions for Pet Store 1.1.2 on Orion please?
Try this step by step example: http://www.jollem.com/orion-primer/ --- Ganasen Gounden [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hello I have installed Orion 1.4.5 on Windows NT successfully. I now need to install the Petstore 1.1.2 Application. Could someone please provide me with a step by step guideline. The existing information is confusing or incomplete or refers to the older version. I am also new to Orion and J2ee. My recommendation is that the Orion developers have a working version of the product bundled into the download of Orion. It will help me and others save a lot of problems in trying to get a j2ee sample application running quick and easily. Please realise that many of us do these downloads for evaluation and demonstration to our management. It is very disappointing when we have to battle in doing this. I have had a bash at Jboss, Enhydra, In-q-my, Oracle 9ias, Jrun, and now Orion. They all have similar challenges in getting Pet Store up and running. I do not mean to be a nag but many thanks in advance if you can help.
