it looks like kena configure the card to ouput to dvi. sometimes card tu tak
dpt detect signal for dvi output so by default the output is sent to vga
out. try changing cables, some cables dia tak connect the ground (i think)
so no signal detection of display. kalau tak boleh jugak then kena configure
xorg.conf (or something like this) to force display output to dvi. this is
common problem with older nvidia cards as well.

  driver tak tau la corrup ke tidak..
  tapi dah berkali2 install driver, tapi yang dapat cuma X
 terminal..
  X window tak dapat puncanya low graphic..
 
  tapi pakai vga tak ada dapat masalah macam tu..
  pakai native driver lagi..
  itu nak pastikan sama ada DVi output untuk linux (untuk ATi
 sahaja) ada
  masalah..
  sebab NVidia tak ada masalah ni..

  output..luar sikit dari OSS.
  Secara kasar yang saya faham VGA menggunakan signal analog
 manakala
  DVi menggunakan signal digital. Tapi apa perbezaannya?
  Dan tambahan betul ke driver untuk DVi output untuk ATi belum

pakai native ubuntu driver or pakai ati punya driver? kalau belum cuba, then
try guna the ati driver. generally u need to configure a few more options
kat x server to allow full support for 3d & dvi. aku tak ingat specifically
apa. its the same for nvidia cards as well. tapi kalau tengok forums ATI
cards memang lagi problematic dari nvidia. sorry for no specific help
syazwan.

Sadly, there's no backup option - available for premium
Premium is instinctively paid service.

It's a disaster if a knowledge tank sunk and there's no backup available

Guys,
Just arrived on hotel bugis here. Its free entrance and hotel room 
provided which has free wifi and local phone calls. Also S$100 transport 
allowance given.
The conference is a Japan-sponsored tactic for some time. But lately 
they are withdrawing funds as its quite matured now and wont need 
patronage from Japan. Surprised of the above offer though cos the last 
year's one in India was not sponsored but i got LinuxForYou there to 
foot my flights, stay and fromage.

Next one should be back in KL at AeU.

 driver tak tau la corrup ke tidak..
 tapi dah berkali2 install driver, tapi yang dapat cuma X terminal..
 X window tak dapat puncanya low graphic..

 tapi pakai vga tak ada dapat masalah macam tu..
 pakai native driver lagi..
 itu nak pastikan sama ada DVi output untuk linux (untuk ATi sahaja) ada

 Hi guys.

 Saya tanya sikit tentang perbezaan VGA output dengan DVi
 output..luar sikit dari OSS.
 Secara kasar yang saya faham VGA menggunakan signal analog manakala
 DVi menggunakan signal digital. Tapi apa perbezaannya?
 Dan tambahan betul ke driver untuk DVi output untuk ATi belum cukup
 sempurna? Sebab saya ada kegagalan mendapatkan display jika menggunakan
 output DVi, tetapi VGA tak ada masalah.
