OSCC was/is(?) part of a Government agency, serving the needs of other
Government agencies. Time and again during my time there, we were
reminded that the public's/rakyat's needs and wants is not the
priority.

After Phases 1 and 2, they are now rightfully at Phase 3, Self Reliance.

So since their aim is not to cater to us, the rakyat; should we do
their job for them? I would love to help them but am loathed to think
that our goodwill is misused to as cheap publicity that there is a
close relationship between the community and OSCC.

Ejat and I had configure sedot and crontab to do the rsync before
leaving OSCC MAMPU for my current company.

Thats script need to be maintain, like checking it will copy the new
version and bandwidth limit also the main problem to sync.

We will contact MAMPU and arrange discussion with them how we as
community can contribute to maintain the mirror.

That why we need to do something which it won't break the dependencies.

The registration for UNIX-g33ks III has been extended to the 11th
of February due to the underwhelming response.

To allow us to run the workshop for 8 sessions, the organizers would
need a minimum of 5 paying attendees to make it happen. But looking at
the list of attendees, less than half of the 25 available seats are

Centos does already have support for "apt-get"..  You need a Centos
repository with support for "apt-get" though..  I used to have
local-internal (read @home) mirror which I maintained using "mrepo" managed
repository which generates yum and apt support capable repositories.

OSCC's Centos mirror hasn't been updated since god knows when.. Refer here -

Also, seems only i386 tree is being mirrored.

I have to agree - maybe someone's rsync not functioning and they lack the

coz the CentOS and Ubuntu repo is up to date.
Only the Debian ones is not up to date.
It seems like the syncing is disabled on purpose.
Perhaps it is disabled due to they think there is not much Debian users in
Malaysia...

But hey, there is actually a lot of Debian servers around Malaysia.
At my home already got at least 3 Debian servers.
