[osg-users] .osg model converted to flt would not load in 3rd party software

2010-07-29 Thread Mach Bhai
Hi,
I have some models in native .osg format and i converted them to .flt using the
osgconv utility. These models load fine with the osgviewer but with other
softwares namely,

1) Deep Exploration 5.7
2) NVIDIA ScenixViewer 6.0
3) Remo 3D

Is there a problem with a flt plugin or is there something that i am missing. I
am using the following command for the conversion.

osgconv -e flt in.osg out.flt

I used osg 2.8.3. I would appreciate any help that may come my way.

Thanks
Macher

I tried the reverse conversion, it converts back perfectly. I have also tried
converting to .3ds and .obj and they work like a charm. I can open the 3ds and
obj files without a problem

I am attaching the models in the form of zip file. The original file is the osg
file and the converted flt file. Thanks for the pointers.

[osg-users] osgconv.exe textures getting mangled

2009-08-06 Thread Mach Bhai
Hi,
I have a model in ive format and osgviewer displays it fine. However if i
convert it to osg, i get black and white shaded files as textures, which are of
no use. I am using osgconv.exe with the following command line

osgconv.exe -e osg -O OutputTextureFiles -O precision:0.001 model.ive model.osg

Is there anything which i am missing ??

Thank you!
Mach

Yes i am also getting rgb files. It might be that something is wrong with that
plugin but i cannot verify. Can we specify the format of the texture ?

I will want to go with the first approach and add support for writing
compressed textures.
So how can I go about uncompressing this data ? Any clues ?

and thanks for your help.

Hi,

After tinkering with the code, i changed the filename to dds in the code and
then in the resulting osg file also, i changed all references to .dds

Worked like a charm :)

Thanks to all of you.

Re: [osg-users] What are txf and tpf files ?

2009-07-29 Thread Mach Bhai
I tried changing both LOD and Eye point but it didn't work.

As an after thought i opened task manager to monitor the memory consumption of
osgviewer and then loaded the txp file. There was no increase in memory
consumption which was a bit disappointing.

Then i opened another simpler txp and the memory consumption just shot up.

So i can conclude fairly that the osgviewer is not reading the txp file at all.

As of now i am looking at other viewers / options mentioned here. And i would
love to get more nudges in the right direction.

Thank you all.

Re: [osg-users] What are txf and tpf files ?

2009-07-28 Thread Mach Bhai
Hello,
I tried opening the txp in the following viewers (results are in the front). I
also tried paning and zooming, but it didnt help.

osgviewer -- Could not see anything, no errors reported
Delta3D -- Could not see anything, no errors reported
ViewTec's TerrainView 4.1 -- The terrain was visible

Also i tried to convert the txp to osg format but it just profuced a small file
in kilobytes with references to other, most probably archived, txp tile files.
Any comments/suggestions on that ?

Thanks

[osg-users] Help with a txp file

2009-07-20 Thread Mach Bhai
Hi,
I am totally new to OSG. I have a small task and i just wanted an opinion to
know whther its even possible or not and if its possible how much of an effort
will be required to be put in?

I have a txp file and i need to export all 3d models used within the file with
thei latitude and longitude. Is this possible or not ? I know the coordinates
of the upper right and lower left corner. Manually it will be a laborious task
and so i wanted to do it programmatically.

Any help/comments/suggestions will be appriciated
...

Thank you!

Cheers,
mach
