Hi Jürgen,

I would say first half of december. The Release Candidate should be
tagged this week. Is it compatible with your schedule ?

Hi,

OTB is now compatible with GDAL 2.0
There is a release planned soon (version 5.2.0), so I guess this will be
the opportunity to provide binaries build with GDAL 2.0

Did this meanwhile change? Is OTB ready for 2.0 and is there chance that OTB
could be updated shortly after GDAL 2.0 is introduced into OSGeo4W?

Any other obstacles keeping us from moving to GDAL 2.0 (short of rolling out a
separate gdal2 package)?

There still are - but just the gdal DLL.

2015-06-19 Thread Julien Malik

Hi all,

I remember in the past there was several GDAL packages, with all the
dlls versioned and present in the bin folder.
Though I understand it represents more work, it will be nice to smooth
the transition to 2.0 by keeping around a package for 1.11, to give time
for everyone to catch up with the latest release.

In the near future, I could also update OpenJPEG to 2.1.0, which
has an impact on GDAL.

GDAL 2.0 was just released. But QGIS release is next week, so I'm
not sure if I should upgrade GDAL 2.0 just now. But that could
