Re: OsmAnd vector format and rendering

2016-11-02 Thread 'Stephan75' via Osmand
Alternatively, have a look at https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Maps.Me
which seems to be opensource and has also compact map files for vector
rendering and routing.

Or see https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Mapsforge that can be used
with https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/GraphHopper

also https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Routing for a collection.

UK Post code search not working

2016-11-02 Thread 'P Wat' via Osmand
Please advise. - Post Code search is not working

I have today downloaded:-
*England_postcodes_address_europe.obf.zip*

*United-kingdom_postcodes_poi_europe.obf.zip*

from https://github.com/hvdwolf/OsmAnd-UKpostcodes/releases

In my laptop I extracted the ZIP files and pushed them into Osmand on my
phone.
Using PS's file manager I can see the newly placed files in the phone.
I shut down Osmand and the phone, re-booted and re-started Osmand.

Searching for postodes in POI is not working
What should I do?

Running Osmand+ 2.4.7 on Android 5.1 on MotoG 1st Generation.

difference between embedded cycle nodes in vector maps and online cyclemap layer (benelux)

2016-11-02 Thread Tom Tiedom
hi all,

I use osmand a lot for cycling in NL and Belgium. Now i have noticed that
recently changed cycle nodes ( the ones out there on the streets) are not
yet updated in the offline vector maps (using lates october 2016 update),
but they are updated in the cyclemap online layer.
Aren't those maps based on the same OSM data?
