I can imagine OsmAnd could do the same - meaning it would work only if you download the height data. If the contour plugin works, it means the data are available. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group. But barometric altitude is not something OsmAnd does. It would be cool if it did... -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group. Re: Altitude value of the point in context menu
There is an altitude widget you can configure from the Configure Screen menu. there are also contour maps that provide this information. If you are talking about selecting a specific point to get what is considered "extended information" you have the wrong program. There are many advantages of being able to select a point to get extended information but it is a question of how big the files would become - presumerably. Re: Altitude value of the point in context menu
+1 Indeed, it could be a useful information... even for a simple Sunday's hike :) Regards, Max -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group. Re: Altitude value of the point in context menu
this feature would be really great! the info must be available, i guess? in the meantime i used the (unhandy) workaround and planned a route around the point that interests me so i would see the altitude.. @osmand team? do you foresee this feature in the future? Re: Altitude value of the point in context menu
Hear hear! Traveling in california this summer I would have loved to be able to quickly check the altitude of my possible campsites. The weather was terribly hot this summer, and 100 meters higher altitude means 1 degree celcius less hot. And as already pointed out the information is already available in osmand's database. Re: Altitude value of the point in context menu
I agree, this would also be also very helpful for me. I’m missing very often a quick and easy possibility to see the altitude of a point, without extra starting a navigation. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group. Altitude value of the point in context menu
I have seen this feature in Locus. I think that altitude value visible in context menu would be very useful and also "not-so-difficult" to implement. OsmAnd gives precise informations about altitude, ascent, descent under route/navigation panel, so why not placing alti value in the context menu? As an user of multisport tracker with barometric altimeter I see this feature very helpful in calibrating altitude before and during activities. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group.
