Web application URL

2013-10-31 Thread Zahra Zamanikia
Hi Guys,

I have a quick question on the URL path of a web application.
I created a new web application and as a result I have the very first site
collection in the top level.
so saying : teamsuat.com.au
Now I want to start creating new site collection under this web application
with out the URL path of /Sites/ or any newspecific path.

instead of teamsuat.com.au/sites/hr I want to have teamsuat.com.au/hr

is it possible?

Thanks,

SPS2010 SP2 - assembly name invalid

2013-10-31 Thread Nigel Hertz
Hi all,

We've got a console application that uses the _vti_bin\copy.asmx web service to
upload files to a document library. The issue is that it works sometimes, and
at other times it fails - for example it'll work fine for 6 hours, then just
randomly stop working for a few hours, and then start working again.

The most relevant looking error in the ULS is The given assembly name or
codebase,
'C:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Web.Extensions\3.5.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35\System.Web.Extensions.dll',
 was invalid.

There's a question on
stackoverflowhttp://stackoverflow.com/questions/18313422/sharepoint-2010-web-services-system-web-extensions-dll-not-found
that is pretty much identical to what we're experiencing, however there isn't
an answer.

Has anyone ever encountered something similar, or have any idea what might be
causing it and what the resolution is?

You will need to create an explicit managed path for your web application in
central admin.
