Hmm. That's pretty whack. Have u compared the page source to see what the
original WP is providing?

I did some more digging, and found this blog 
post.
 The original web part had been closed (not deleted) and a new one of the list 
view was added, which was missing the 2 items. Deleting it and restoring the 
original fixed it up.
