I am not sure what is missing. I think Packman provides all the packages you
requires.
So, a simple one-click install link on the openSUSE welcome page would be
enough, I guess.
Also, there is already https://www.opensuse-community.org/

I added aarch64 and armv7 to Tumbleweed repo on some projects lately, as a test.

No, currently mirrors take care of projects and repos only and that's why
adding new architectures to openSUSE_Tumbleweed will just work, whereas nobody
took care to add openSUSE_Factory_ARM in the past.

No, it is not part of the mirrors, which was the original reason for this
change.

It would a switch instead of additional builds. Once openSUSE_Tumbleweed looks
ok, we could just drop openSUSE_Factory_ARM .

Hi,

Packman build already for Arm (aarch64, armv7 and armv6).

For Leap, Arm packages are built in the same repo and thus, are released under
the same directories as x86.
But for Tumbleweed, it currently uses different repo (openSUSE_Factory_ARM vs
openSUSE_Tumbleweed for x86).
So, we should redo the Packman setup to build Arm in openSUSE_Tumbleweed
project as well. Any objections?

Hi Stefan,

Here is a follow-up.

Now, I have the following error printed in the build log:
Block format 'raw' does not support the option 'serial'

I think my current qemu (from TW) is too new for PMBS.
I think PMBS sends some build script to the worker. Those scripts probably need
to be updated on PMBS side? As a n' osc build' works properly now.

Thanks,

[packman] armv6 jobs on PMBS (nearly) never scheduled

2018-08-24 Diskussionsfäden Guillaume Gardet

Hi,

on pmbs, armv6 jobs are nearly never scheduled (seen only once on kamionche
worker), wheras all armv7 (and also the current aarch64 worker) are able to
build armv6 since we switched to native compilation long time ago.

So, I think the scheduler (or something) has some problem. Maybe a restart (or
update?) of pmbs would help?

Packman repo are separate from build.opensuse.org on purpose (mainly licensing

The problem here is to enable a build repo for SLE15 for each packman project
and add it to aggregated published repo.

Hi Stefan
Any updates or still the same status?

I am sorry, that I am not more responsive ATM - well, I never really
am fast in replying :).
This week I am extremely tight with time, pressing deadlines, a
welcome event for new students and a well-organized competence fight.

For the coming days I will willfully break the compliance regulation
on account that I have no time to comply. I will try to update PMBS
and the obs software during the weekend or early next week.
So everything will stay online, but I will try to find a different
hosting location in the long run.

I have updated PMBS to openSUSE 42.3 and used the obs repo for 42.2,
ignoring the unavailable dependencies - which are few due to the
similarity between 42.2 and 42.3.

If you see any odd behavior, please reply here.

If you branch a project and then try a 'osc linkdiff' you get an error:

I think it would have been easier to just extend the arch= list of the
existing openSUSE_Leap_42.3 repository. That way the existing meta
data of some packages would also cover the ARM build. Now each
affected package has to be adjusted to handle also
openSUSE_Leap_42.3_Ports.

Please talk to Guillaume Gardet, I believe he added that for AArch64

Where is it? AArch64 should be part of standard Leap:42.3 repo.

I wonder how this should be handled in the long run.
Essentials+Multimedia have ~700 packages targeted for armv7l. Even if we
manage to disable 10% of the packages because they are not useful on
armv7l (or %arm in general), the remaining ~600 packages will take a
very long time to build. Perhaps *_ARM should be set to block=local, or
whatever OBS scheduling strategy makes sense.

I think rebuild block=local is not a good idea. OBS did it for Factory:ARM repo
and there are lots of problems with deps.

Since I re-enabled one of my ARM workers, it seems to be better. ;)

What happend to libSOIL? Its missing in Factory, so the addon
package does not build.

It is also not in Tumbleweed. Should we link the package to packman
for Factory and Tumbleweed? Or is it really needed - if not, it could
be pulled in conditionally in the package for suse_version <= 1320.

I pulled in libSOIL from openSUSE:games to Multimedia, but recompressed
the source zip with a shorter directory name, it is built for
Tumbleweed and Factory only.

Once Sagi's submitted packages build fine for Tumbleweed, I will accept
both kodi packages - should be within the hour.

kodi still needs pkgconfig(platform) for Factory, can someone more into
kodi/platform have a look at this?

Kodi does not need it anymore. But kodi addons package does.

For some reason installing kernel-obs takes several hours. Not sure if
the build gets a time-out again this time, see Essentials/ffmpeg.

I already seen that. I will try to fix it.

Given the overall low quality of the armv6l target I suggest to build
just Factory and 13.2.

I think some raspberry pi users are still on 13.1. :(

Let me try to fix kernel-obs problem, first.

 Get rid of raspberrypi-userland.rpm?

It is needed for XMBC and omxplayer. Maybe we could just use this RPM for XBMC

The best way would be to use an update-alternative script for this.

for openSUSE, we should install pipelight from this home repo:

I am a little reluctant to accept the request, I believe it is
good to have Manfred accept it, as he is the one usually dealing
with ffmpeg and all its children ;-)

Manfred, can you have a look?
I've packaged ffmpeg 1.2 and 1.2.1 in the past and got back to
 1.0.x.
Three or four packages didn't work correctly with 1.2.x (no compile
problems, but runtime problems). I don't think, we should switch to
 1.2!
VLC 2.1.0 compiles and works fine with ffmpeg 2.0.1.
Then use it, ffmpeg 1.0.6 is only available for compatibility reasons.

I have built it successfully here:
 https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:wolfi323/vlc
I only added BuildRequires: -post-build-checks to the spec file
there to get rid of some no-return-in-nonvoid-function errors that
made the build fail (I didn't want to dig deeper into that right
now). But those are not related to ffmpeg, they are also there when
building without it (see KDE:Distro:Factory f.e.).

So I would suggest to just change the BuildRequires:
libffmpeg1-devel to libffmpeg-devel again, instead of updating
ffmpeg1 (or maybe trying to patch vlc to build against 1.0.8).
Building against libffmpeg-devel is the solution. VLC 2.0.x didn't
compile against ffmpeg 2.x, that's the only reason for building against
 ibffmpeg1-devel.

Wolfgang, could you submit your patch to use ffmpeg 2 with VLC, please?

Sorry, I have not seen that it was an OBS home, not a packman home. ;)

If you are referring to the ffmpeg thing, just revert the link to the current
version in OBS, multimedia:libs. There it still uses libffmpeg-devel.
Or change it yourself in PMBS, I don't think you need a patch by me for that,
 it's line#141 in the spec file... ;)

Indeeded. ;)

But there was another problem I forgot to mention (but can be seen in the
 link
 diff):
The spec file in multimedia:libs (and PMBS:Essentials therefore)
 BuildRequires
faad2-devel, which the RedDwarf:fakePackman packages don't provide anymore,
 so
I had to change this to libfaad-devel. I'm not sure if this would be a
 problem
on Packman as well, maybe that's been taken care of in the Project config?

This one is fine in PMBS.

Guillaume

But of course, I'm open to help if I can. ;)

 Hello guys,

I would like to ask for access to your obs instance so I could package mpv
media player and help you improve the repo + move stuff to opensuse obs
 instance where possible.

Also I would like to merge some changes I have in my home project [1] (not
everything but libs/xbmc are in good shape :P).

Be careful, openSUSE OBS forbids packages such as ffmpeg, xbmc, etc. ;)

[packman] XBMC update and deps

2013-09-13 Diskussionsfäden Guillaume Gardet
Hi,

I am preparing an XBMC update and to add libcec support, I need to add libcec
in packman (available in hardware project in openSUSE OBS, but not in Factory).
So, could I add libcec to Multimedia project? Or is there any better solution?
Same question with omxplayer (a player for Raspberry Pi ARM board).

Yes, if you need them in Multimedia, put them there.

Ok, I added libcec to Multimedia.

I submited my XBMC update, SR #528. I will not accept it myself, I would prefer
that someone else review it.

 Did that ;-)

Thanks.

Do you want to make a reqms on Essentials and Multimedia?

Thanks for the offer. I think it could be good idea. Will do a reqms later.

That is true. It is only disabled for armv7.

 I'll keep you posted.

darix helped my confirm this error in the latest mariadb update,
 bugzilla is https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=837123.

For the time being we have to wait for that to be fixed.

Ok, thanks for info. :)

I can see there a new BuildRequires: libgpg-error-devel. Package
failed to build for = 12.2 due to:
 | [ 104s] checking for main in -lgpg-error... no
 | [ 104s] configure: error: Could not find a required library.
Please see the README for your platform.

But libgpg-error-devel package is available in OSS repository. Could
You trigger rebuild of xbmc to check if it's gonna build on other
 worker?

It is _not_ libgpg-error-related. The problem arises from
libmysqlclient. There has been a security update for MySQL some three

Ok, thanks for the hint.

Maybe you could accept this SR to get most builds working and then, investigate
on gpg-error/mysqlclient error and submit a fix when/if we find one.

PS: yes, I know, hermes would have made this easier, but I did not have

 Hi
Is that a really good idea, just to push it out when there is a known
issue? Plus I see from the spec file that post build checks are
 disabled, that's not good form.

I think that partial build is better than no build at all, which is the current
state.

Moreover, if my patch is merged, someone else could work on a fix for other
problems or enhancements.

What do you mean by post build checks are disabled ?

 Hi
 This entry;

 BuildRequires: -post-build-checks

 Does it build without this?

Checked just now and, no it fails with directories not owned by a package
errors. It should be easily fixed but I cannot do it right now.

It is always the same error. I added libgpg-error-devel as BuildRequires but
the error is still there.

The errors are only for 12.2 (i586 / x86_64), 12.3 i586 and Tumbleweed i586.
Factory is fine, ARM builds also fine.

I guess it is a problem with gpg-error, not XBMC.
