2001-10-26 Thread Sumita Malik

Hi,
You can choose from Symbol's 1500 or 1700 series.Types include 1D and 2D scanners.

In SDK, there r samples how u can use the Symbol's scanner library to develop
scanning-based applications.
n u can join Symbol Forum for Symbol specific questions.

1) Use a Symbol Palm OS unit, either 1500, 1700 or 1800
These have built-in laser barcode scanners

2) Use a Handspring unit with a Springboard scanner module.
Either PSC Momentum or a Symbol module
Both use laser barcode scanners

3) There's an Australian company with an external scanner which
is advertised to work with the M500, but I've never worked
with it.

You could try checking out the Symbol SDK, which it is included as part of
CodeWarrior for Palm 7.0/8.0. v8.0 has the newer version. It's also downloadable
from Symbol's website I think. The SDK includes some sample code that might be
helpful.

Hope this helps,

RE: Dealing with (Barcode)

2001-10-24 Thread Craig Deelsnyder

I guess that brings up the question of what your hardware is.

jkl mentioned the SDK for if you're using a Symbol SPT or barcode scanner
system. If you're using another system (Intermec, Handspring, etc.), you'll
need to get ahold of the SDK for your particular system.

Your manufacturer should have that (Symbol's is on their website). It just
so happens that CodeWarrior includes Symbol's SDK with it.

If it is a Symbol, may I also suggest the 'symbol-forum', as it would help
with those specific questions.
