And this is coming from both a maintainer AND a user :) I'm more than half-serious. Roderich has been doing an incredible job at helping people, fixing bugs, and generally keeping the ball rolling for quite a while now. Some time back, I was doing a lot of that. Maybe in a half year, it'll be you or somebody else entirely? The reason I'm putting it this way is because there's no explicit nor implied responsibility of maintaining the software. That's why the term maintainer, though not entirely wrong, may be misleading. Anybody fixing bugs is making a donation of his time. The difference between the mailing list and the bug tracker is that in the latter, issues should be kept fairly separated. Otherwise it becomes extremely annoying to try and find out what the actual issue was and how it could be fixed. I'm not saying the following is the case here, but let me add that in general, bug reports which are really help requests from users can become fairly problematic from a maintainer point of view. The original bug IS fixed. What you see is a different issue with the build
process.
But I already told you this, feel free to open a new bug (but I know about the
issue,
but don't have time to investigate right now).
If you don't know what to do after dmake, RTFM on Howto install stuff from
CPAN.

You're confused: this output indicates you're using ActiveState perl, not
Strawberry. The former will most likely use nmake to build stuff.

I'm sorry, i'm quite new to using a bug tracker, or usenet or even perl and to programming in general. It looked liked the same issue i was having and so I replied to it. As already mentioned I use Strawberryperl so dmake is what I use. Yes, the build problem seems specific for dmake - CPAN test results show that *nix platforms are OK. It will be a few days until I will have time to dig further.
