Hello, I've got Jaws running through the onboard sound card, and all other
audio coming through the SB Live, and wonder if anyone can point me toward
a
speaker that was like the DecTalk one? It's just one little speaker with a
volume control. That's all I need.
 Thanks a lot.

Re: cdex question

2004-07-05 Thread Tessa
Sounds like you've only got one song selected when you start the copy, you can
have all songs selected automatically if you go into the options though I'm not
sure which screen it's on, or tab into the song list and select all then hit f9
and see if it copies everything. HTH

Re: fm transmitter sound related issues

2004-07-05 Thread Mike Mote
I had the same problem, you are talking about with my sound card a few years
back. If you have your sound card set to digital output only, you will get
that noise on some computers. It happened on my gateway. Just a thought!
Not sure if the sound card you're using is digital or not.

Multi-tracking software

2004-07-05 Thread Norma A. Boge
Hi Stuart,
N Track Studio is very friendly, though I must say I'm just getting into
using it. There is a very good review on acbradio.org, and a link there
from which to download a demo.

Help with Nero, Please

2004-07-05 Thread mimi
Hello, Nero Users and Listers!

Oh, man, I messed up my Nero pretty good. I don't know what I did wrong but when I go
to burn CD now, even if I burn a data disc, when I go to play it back in the drive,
it shows up as an audio disc when it is supposed to be a data one. It does not play
at all. I must have unchecked some stuff and I don't know what to do to fix it.
Could someone please go over the preferences with me step by step and try to tell me
what to reset, recheck, and stuff? When things are working right, The drive comes up
as New E when it's a data disc in it. I don't think I am burning a disc now, even
if it shows up that way. The burner is working, but when I play that same disc in my
portable mp3 player, now it won't play. So, I did something awful. I don't want to
reinstall the program--I already packed it away. So, how can I fix it without the
program CD? I would appreciate your help very much. Thanks.

Mimi

I don't do such dumb things often, thank goodness. I try to learn, but oh, this hurts!

Hey, I fixed it!

2004-07-05 Thread mimi
Hi, Gang!

Whatever I did wrong in Nero, somehow, I fixed it. I don't understand it, but my mind
worked ahead of me. It's back to what it should be now, and I can play my mp3 discs
in all my machines as I should be able to do. Now, I'm gonna leave it alone!!!

Guess I checked things that should not have been checked and unchecked those things,
so now, the CD burner shows as New E as it should. That's always been the case when
an mp3 disc is in it. That's the way it should be. I'm glad now, I can relax. I
notice though, sometimes I burn a disc and songs break up. Guess that's a bad one in
the pack. Will have to reburn the same compilation onto aanother disc

Burning data cd in winamp pro

2004-07-05 Thread Hamish Mackenzie
Hi All

Have been messing around in winamp pro and have sorted out ripping and
burning audio cds, but am having a problem trying to burn a data cd. I
am trying to burn a number of mp3 files that are a book onto a cdrw and
I know there is enough space to put them on the disk but in winamp it
only seems to let me burn one of the files which is just short of 70
mins so i figure it is converting it to a wav file. How can I burn data
cds or is it not possible?

Cheers

Re: Hey, I fixed it!

2004-07-05 Thread mimi
Gee, Tony, I don't know what you can do about that problem. Might be a bad
disc. Some of these discs in any fifty-pack will go bad. You can't see it,
but you sure can hear it, that's for sure. Well, found one bad one in the
new bunch and there's nothing for it but to discard it. Blanks are so cheap
it isn't funny. Keep trying, though. I know it's frustrating.

 Hi Mimi,

Good show, glad you were able to straighten it out. I've had that same
problem with songs breaking up and sounding crappy at the end of the cd.
Don't know why that happens. Somebody told me that to fix that you have to
burn your disks at a reduced speed. Up until recently, my burner had no
problem with burning audio at 12x but in recent attempts the end of the
compilations come back sounding worse than beat and scrached up 78's. Any
 suggestions to fix that one?

 Tony
