Re: burning in nero bottom file appears first

2004-08-22 Thread russell Bourgoin
Hi,
I had been happily using roxio until it stopped working on my
laptop. No matter what, I couldn't get it to recognize my cd rom drive,
though it had when I first installed it. I uninstalled the program,
reinstalled it, and still, it wouldn't work. Frustrated, I downloaded a
trial of nero, and saw that it worked just fine. Now I own both, and still
do use roxio on my desktop, where it continues to function.

Rusty
so rusty I see you've switched from creater to nero as well is roxio becoming
less accessible?

Re: FM TRANSMITTERS

2004-08-22 Thread russell Bourgoin
hi Richard,
I own two of the c crane transmitters and have never had a
problem. They cost around $79 and are well worth it. They run on battery
or ac current, so you can bring it into a car and transmit to the car
radio. The range is good enough to cover my entire two story house, and I
can sit out in my driveway and listen to my computer generated music, or my
audible books through my boom box. Hope this helps.

Re: cd/mp3 players, some stuff doesn't play

2004-08-22 Thread Michael Lang
Kurt, I'D be very surprised, if you could get an MP2 playing machine.
There are multi codec devices which can read MP3PRO, OGG VORBIS and
even AAC, but MP2 is only available on pro equipment like the Marantz
PMD670. If you want to play MP2 files on a portable, it may be best to
convert them to MP3, with Lame for instance.

What variant of the Audigy do you have and what inputs does your
5.1 control box use? One thing to do after you have everything
installed is to uncheck AC3 decoding under the Audigy and let the
external decoder do the work. A techie from Yamaha mentioned a
while back that the Soundblaster does some weird manipulation and
the signal it presents to the controller isn't quiet up to snuff.

you don't have to just use nero Express the drive comes with Nero Express
but you can use any burning program that supports your burner Nero Express
is managable with Jfw but you have to use the jaws cursor to operate
it. What problems are you having?

Iam looking for one that is ready to use right out of the box, and not a

Re: disc info for nero what does it do?

2004-08-22 Thread Donald L. Roberts
Leonard, This brings up a couple of Nero questions I now have.

First, I have been looking for a long time to find a program where I could
just have one large .wav file and mark it at designated points to
automatically split that large .wav file and convert it to multiple cdda
tracks. I know of course that I can use most any good editor such as Gold
Wave to split it into multiple smaller files. But I wanted to find
something where I could just make one mark for each split and then burn.

Second, have you attempted to use the split or edit functions of Nero's
editor?

Third, I am using Nero 5.5. What advantage if any is there to upgrading to
version 6? I do not have a DVD burner.

Thanks.

Don Roberts

Tv Tuner Cards

2004-08-22 Thread djc
I've been chatting about software that drives tv tuner cards and I'd be
interested if you own one to please tell us of your experience. I
understand for example that Pinacle makes a great tv tuner card and the
software is quite accessible with Window-eyes. Another company that makes
fairly accessible software to control the tv tuner card is Leadtek so I
understand. I'd be interested to know your experience if you own one of
these tv tuner cards. For example some tv chanels scroll such things as
news headlines on the screen. My friend who uses the Pinacle software tells
me that through a web page He can actually read these headlines and so
forth.
